See, I'm on the opposite side of the fence, I say make as many DVD's as you want.  I think Genesis put out a DVD or VHS for each of their last four tours, We all know how many Rush has put out.

The point is that no one has to buy a particular DVD if they don't want to.  In my opinion, the ideal would be that a band puts a DVD out with every tour.  How cool would it be if the people that love Lightbulb Sun could go pick up the DVD?  Or someone that saw "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" as their first concert was able to relive it time and time again as they watched the video.  The current desire to have a DVD copy of The Incident tour shows again that the band isn't going to over saturate the market.  Here's another example, they just made the Atlanta show available for download and how many people purchased it, despite having Anesthetize.

I just refuse to criticize Rush, Dream Theater and the like for producing too much material as people continue to buy the material.  I say have at it and let the market decide what is viable.

I don't have an unnatural obsession with Disney Princesses, I have a fourteen year old daughter and coping mechanisms.

^Good point. Everyone has their favourite song by an artist, and when one sees them live, one says 'Why didn't they play track X?' So you can go and get it on live DVD! Big smile I'm so pleased to have a live recording of A Smart Kid finally, for example!

PTs two live DVDs do vary the tracklist a lot, so you don't get a lot of the same stuff again. Only Halo is duplicated. Same with DT. They do put out a lot of live albums, but the setlist is always different every time (I have all of DTs live albums, haha LOL)
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

All I meant was I prefer them to only release a few super high quality DVD's then lots of average ones.

Also, it's good to hear SW's ridiculous sense of humour from early PT translated over to IEM:

Yes, indeed it would... For me too, if I introduce myself... I am Mr. B Cranswick, of the... Legendary... Um, alternative poetry band... Boris The Cow... And, uh, this cassette is in fact being compiled today, this afternoon, in aid of a certain S Wilson, who apparently appreciates this particular art medium... Without further a-do, some poetry!

(From An Escalator To Christmas)

Imagine SW reading it in a super-sleazy English accent

It doesn't really matter how much money you have. If you were a PT completest type collector you would eventually be poor wouldn't you?

Hey PT fans, you might be interested in this band I promote and their free albums. They have a slight PT influences but more than that, they are making music for the same kind of fans and tastes that PT have. Give it a try Smile

Holy Crap! Three songs into Forbidden Drama. These guys are killer!  Download time! Great songs, and very imaginative use of background vocals and great harmonies.  excellent musicianship and the production is top notch. Great PT type accessibility with a greater sense of prog adventurism. On Digging a Hole now. Wow, seriously, this is some of the most original sounding music I've heard in a long time. I wish I spoke Romanian!  do have an English bio available anywhere?

Man, it sounds really good.  Dial-up is the only internet available in my area so I'm not gonna be able download it, but hopefully I can find a wi-fi spot soon!

I wrote this bio for their page on ProgArchives: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=5080
This is the bio on Last.fm: http://www.last.fm/music/Byron/+wiki

I'm glad you like them! Apparently it wasn't a bad move to suggest this to PT fans Tongue

It's got some random spoken word segments, although nothing sung or really musical, rather random trippy chatter

^I just ordered the IEM boxset Embarrassed I really am a SW fanboy. How much have I spent on PT/SW projects this year? A wee bit too much, I think. What was someone saying about being poor? LOL

I probably will never get the chance to hear this stuff again, so I figured I had to get this boxset while stocks last. Fortunately, Headphone Dust takes Paypal, because I think I've overdone my limit on my Debit Mastercard for this month, mostly on PT related music! Haha
