If you want some good math rock with vocals check out Faraquet - The View from this Tower, Bygones, Medications, Maps & Atlases, Drive Like Jehu, Owls, American Football. I am not a big fan of the last two bands, but a lot of people seem to like them. Edited by MusicForSpeedin - June 09 2010 at 15:55 |

I suggest another friends of mine (like COALA PASCAL and NICE WINGS, ICARUS!) for addition on PA: UPRISING FOMALHAUT
![]() Raw Atmospheric Post-Metal in vein of AMENRA, later days' FALL OF EFRAFA and early YEAR OF NO LIGHT! Free debut EP for download!!! Highly recommended! |

Weird that you mention Fall of Efrafa, Igor.
I recently got into the band, perhaps a bit under a month ago. Fantastic stuff indeed. |

Thanks for the Uprising Fomalhaut stuff, Prog-Jester. Listening to it right now, getting a very Amenra-esque vibe from it. Good stuff
![]() Oh, I'm also checking out your Krobak stuff on Last.fm. Really digging that stuff too, great work. Edited by NecronCommander - June 13 2010 at 11:34 |

If you are a fan of Omega Massif - you can get the full album GEISTERSTADT for free right here: http://www.denovali.com/omegamassif/
In addition, you'll be downloading a demo album called KALT. And, if you want, you can pre-order their album from the site. if you like the heavy, post metal sound, this is it. |

new Maps & Atlases is incredibly boring, disgusting
new Canyons of Static is very good, one of the best i've heard recently I listened to Motek's s/t, i was surprised how great this is, i have heard long time ago their Port Sunshine, but this is way better. |

Just saw Russian Circles live!
They were so good. It was about 15 times better than anything on their albums, and I love their albums. One of the coolest shows I've ever seen |

They're coming here tonight and I was tempted to go see them based on what little I know of them - but I just couldn't make myself go see three bands live I don't really know by myself, especially after being out all morning/afternoon already. Am I making a mistake? XD

Yes, yes you are. Seriously, you're missing out. If you like metal in the slightest bit you will enjoy Skeletonwitch and High on Fire, and I've come to the conclusion that Russian Circles is absolutely GODLY live

Is the post Rock-Post Metal genre is the new popular trend related to progressive rock? It seems to me that 80% of the new album add on Pa are coming from that genre. Why? |

Yes, this is a new direction in math rock, but it had to be explored. I feel that this new sound of theirs is perhaps (unintentionally) closer to the classic strains of prog, in both spirit and sound than anything Don Cab or Battles has recorded. (just to mention a couple big names)
