...now all I have to do is find a new needle for my record player......
Do you plan on purchasing the vinyl, idiotPrayer?

i will probably...i'm quite ashamed to say that i do not own in absentia yet in any form , neither any newer album (except for anesthetize). it would sure be cool, especially when it's a tonefloat release. also i suspect there's a deadwing vinyl reissue coming up on tonefloat soon, as it's a similar case to the one with in absentia.

Oooooh, a live version of A Smart Kid has piqued my interest, even though I already have all the other tracks live.
Will be considering that one for sure!

^Yeah, me too. I always become poor after buying everything SW releases!
I thought I was safe until Recordings comes out later this year. But I may be forced to purchase this download. Like Joel, I have all of these tracks in live form, except for A Smart Kid. Just that track alone makes me interested.

Just bought the download! That's how much of a PT sucker I am. I heard about this thing 20 minutes ago. Now I own it!

Yeah, I now have three very similar FOABP tour live sets (Anesthetize, Ilosaarirock, and now Atlanta), just for a couple of new songs. I was tempted over the line by the inclusion of 'A Smart Kid'. SD may be my fave PT album.
Well, I also have Arriving Somewhere and Rockpalast downloads, both from the Deadwing tour, with only slightly different setlists!

i'd love to see them release some vintage stuff like a live recording from the sky moves sideways tour, or one from the stupid dream tour. on limited cd or download. in that case they would practically already have my money.

Mmmm, Spiral Circus would be a delicious CD re-release... I really still want some more early PT recordings too.
I would kill for an entire live version of Stupid Dream or Up The Downstair.

Man, I just noticed they have Anesthetize hoodies on their page now... And that they've all sold out Really would've liked one of those.

Yes. I don't really need yet another live version of Halo or Trains (I have several now ), so I do wish they'd release some older live material as either CDs or Burning Shed downloads. I wonder if they have many shows in the archive that were professionally recorded and mixed? Nearfest 2001? Progfest 1999, San Francisco? Those would already have my money if they were released!

Definitely would love some of those on CD!
Man, I really hope they make a live DVD of The Incident tour; can't get over just how brilliant the show was. Every time I put it on I have flashbacks
Even a CD would suffice, but a DVD would be brilliant

^Precisely. An Incident tour cycle DVD or CD would be fantastic. That was one of the best gigs I've ever been to, so to relive it would be superb.
As long as they put Stars Die on it this time!
And I sincerely hope they change their mind about recording the Albert Hall show, arguably the biggest of their career. How can they not record that? High costs for recording inside the RAH? Make another limited special edition version of 4000 copies, that will recoup their money in no time! lol

They really should record that one, although I remember Richard Barbieri saying the costs for recording a concert were ridiculous, well over 10 thousand just to let the venue know you want to, before you pay cameramen, organise the stage for access, record the show, spend the time mixing it etc. but I'd love to have that gig.
It's really great that PT only have 2 DVD's so far, but they're both so absolutely brilliant, whereas some other bands have 15 or 20 DVD's and only 3 are really great. It's awesome how much care they put into the whole show
Also, wonder what live CD we'll get for this year's ROABP... Hopefully something good, and no more live versions of Trains or Halo!

I love Trains, and Halo, Blackest Eyes, Sound of Muzak, etc; but I do have loads of Deadwing/IA live stuff. No more! And now I've tonnes of live FOABP and Nil Recurring stuff, too. But sadly no live version of the Fripp-featuring NR title track yet.
Agree about the DVDs. It is good they take their time and deliver something really excellent. Both Arriving Somewhere and Anesthetize are very high quality concerts. Some bands really overkill the live albums and DVDS, don't they? (Rush, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, are some of the worst offenders, lol! ) That said, I think I have more PT live material than I do studio material now!
I hope next years ROABP CD is something from the Incident tour.
Oh, and the download version of 'A Smart Kid' live in Atlanta is STUNNING. Worth the asking price alone. And its for a good cause (get better, Mick)

I would kill to see Robert Fripp playing with PT on 'Nil Recurring.' It's like the combination of my two favorite bands (Fripp being the only concrete member of King Crimson) .
Oh, and I don't think Rush have had that many live DVDs... I have Rush in Rio and it's fantastic! But Dream Theater... yeah, maybe a bit too many, lol.

Well, in the last few years alone, we've had Rush In Rio, R30, Snakes And Arrows Live, and Working Men. LOL
As for DT, yeah, quite a bit too many. There's a live album for just about every studio one!

Yeah, I guess Rush has made quite a few live DVDs . On a different note, I really wish I had enough money to help Mick out as well as get some new PT stuff... as someone said in an earlier post, 'I hate being poor.'
