I like it enough that I'm listening to it again right now. I got it a few years ago in an anthology with all of Bob's solo album to date + bonus tracks on each one.

Bob is of course from a punk band so it's nothing like prog, but the music is pretty good. No instrumental madness though, just generally well-crafted songs. Bob is a pretty creative guy, and avoids love songs on this album, other than a "A Sex Thing", which is far darker than what you would expect from a normal love song.

Highlights for me:

Attitude Chicken - hilariously clever lyrics
The song of the Emergent Nationalist - cool dark feeling, some nice effects over a consistent bass/drum beat
Too Late God - hilarious little song where Bob basically tells God he's out of chances
A Sex Thing - catchy, funny yet dark
The House At The Top of The World / Road of Germany - little story songs that are carried by the lyrics. House does have some interesting effects in it though.
The Happy Club / A Hole To Fill - catchy little fun pieces

The version I have also has three bonus tracks, Shine On, Huge Birdless Silence, and Maybe Heaven - each is worth a listen as well. Smile

Check out my lastfm though and you'll see that Bob and his band have each gotten a fair amount of my listening time in the past few years Tongue so you are asking a Bob fan if Bob music is worth your time.

Haha, well, I do sort of dig the Boomtown Rats (an album, a comp and a DVD) but I had no idea what the deal was with solo Geldof.

I'll check it out right after I finish with...
