Coming from you E, I find that to be quite intriguing. I've not heard that yet, but apparently it needs to go to the top of "the list".

Total impulse purchase. I think I listened to a few samples, but what can you gather from samples? I sampled Big Big Train's The Underfall Yard over at CD Baby and was a bit underwhelmed. I get it and now it's my best purchase of 2009 and probably the second best CD I've bought in the past 10 years behind Marbles.

This is extremely lush, well thought out and impeccably performed. Michel St. Pere's playing is incredible, but not over-the-top. Good guest appearances by Daryl Steurmer, John Jowitt and Oliver Wakeman (to name a few). And in case anyone is unaware, this is Benoit David's full time gig when he's not doing the Yes reunion stuff. Absolutely stunning. I sent St. Pere a message via Facebook that if I weren't at the office right now, I'd stand up and applaud the band for this effort.

I knew that there was a reason that I had heard of them before.  I am even more intrigued now. LOL

Finished this fabulous album of french music of the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries (Rameau, Fourqueray, Marais, Ste-Colombe) :

Now listening to one of the best live ever recorded as another tribute to the great late Ronnie James Dio Cry :

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)
