Hey all. New here but I've been lurking for awhile.
This has probably been asked before but I was wondering what some good post rock, post metal, and math rock bands are that have vocals. I've really started getting into these three genres thanks to this thread and while I do enjoy instrumental bands, I'd like some more with vocals as well. Listing them according to each of the three genres would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Thanks for the reply angelmk. Of the bands you listed, I've only really listened to Sigur Ros, Cult of Luna, and Neurosis. I've listened to a couple of the others but don't have any albums. I'll definitely check them all out. Any math rock?
As for Isis, that is sad news. I've been listening to them since before I knew anything about post metal. Maybe some more post metal projects will sprout from the band members though. |

What exactly makes something math rock instead of post rock?

I know, it's really sad I'm lucky I've got a chance to see them twice before they're done. Two back to back nights in NYC. I might have to go to both!

F*CK!
You know how much we owe that group?! I'm literally heartbroken over this. Wavering radiant was such a good album, I was anticipating a follow up.
This is a sad day.

I just saw Mono in Minneapolis tonight. The first hour was really damn good. However, with the last half hour or so, the quiet beginning-loud climax left me quite fatigued with three songs of that formula in a row. Rather unfortunate, but the first half was definitely worth the price. Burial at Sea is so haunting and heart-achingly beautiful! They were also selling the Hymn 2xLP for $15. Good deal! I'm quite gutted after learning about this. And I'll never get to see them live after all.
