I hate La Double Vie de Véronique intensely, while Blue I just hated (but more than enough to skip Blanc and Rouge, so I haven't seen them) This guy is spot on So its Godfather for me, I guess. |

Haven't seen White or Red, but Blue is amazing. voted Star Wars original, but I could probably think of better, given enough time. |

How about some Sergio Leone?
Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) Duck, You Sucker! (1971) Once Upon a Time in America (1984) And before that there was his Dollars trilogy with Clint Eastwood. |

Mike, you have to check out White. It is the most fun of bunch, injecting a bit more humor. Red is more mysterious and about an odd relationship. |

^ They're good, but I prefer the newer trilogy ... especially Once Upon a Time in America, it beautifully combines Mafia and Western.

There's something about film trilogies that there is usually one in the series that just isn't as good as the others.

I've seen them in adolescence and I can't recall anything else except that I liked them. |

As The Godfather III was so weak (though the first two were masterpieces), I'll have to go with the Ring trilogy -- an amazing, consistently excellent cinematic achievement, in my book.

LOTR, because, like the books, it is really a single story and was filmed as a continuous work. Most trilogies have a successful start and then the 2nd two are added...to mixed effect. I know I'm old, but what about Back to the Future?

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Although the third film is a bit weak, the first two Mad Max films are landmark movies. So I voted for the Mad Max trilogy because of this.

Have to go with LOTR. Most anticipated movie in my life. Jackson did what no Hollywood Director could do without ruining the story completely. The Bashki's cartoons were too rushed and really blow. I fall asleep at the same point every time I have tried. I really was looking forward to them too.

The Godfather trilogy by a few miles. Actually, for me, either one of the first two Godfathers is better than 99% of these trilogies combined.
Good choice for comedy. So much better than today's crap in that genre. |
