Seasons End is a good bridge between THEN and NOW. Personally, my favourite H-era album is Afraid of Sunlight.

Brave got my attention for the band again. Got Script and didn't keep up with them after that. Afraid Of Sunlight is probably my favorite. I had been getting their new stuff as it came out but they seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut. Not bad music but not particularly inspired to my ear.

I have Misplaced Childhood and I can't seem to get into it. Since I don't have any after that, what's the difference between the Fish-lead material and the Hogarth-lead material?
|
BIG DIFFERENCE: Fish-era is mainly the definition of Neo-Prog, Genesis and Pink Floyd influences, and lots of synths.
Hogarth-era is either crossover prog or prog-related, though not neccessarily worse than the Fish-era. If you're a fan of modern rock music, I think they're a pretty damn good band.

Anyway, not sure if you should follow my recommendation on this one. I didn't like Marbles particulary because I found the band trying to make 'prog' songs again, lots of 10 minute songs, but none of them really fit the style of Hogarth in my opinion.
Maybe you might think otherwise, I enjoy the H-era as a Alt. Rock band with prog leanings, and a great one!

I love this album. Even though everything about it is stuff I don't usually like:

This again. It's been growing on me quite a lot the last few days.
