The stories behind the songs on this album are very close to my heart.  Touching portrayals of American life throughout the 20th century. 

Reminds me of talking to a Vietnam vet in a men's spa...nobody'd listen to this guy.  I did.  I'll never forget the things he told me.

Sadly...people would rather drink lemonade than hear the cowboy poems for free.

Yeah, I heard the back stories to several of the songs thanks to the live album, but so far I only have this one through eMusic so if there are any which don't get explained/played on the live album I'm missing out on those stories for now.

I love the album, though I don't listen to it very often.  I've had it for a while now.   They're all available to download on iTunes now, too.
