Looking for more music.

I've been around here for quite a while and built up good collection of CD's, largely thanks to this site. But I'm beginning to run out of ideas of what to get nextso I'm hoping a few people here can offer me recommendations from anything to everything, no genres to be left unturned. Now, obviously I'm asking for quite a bit here, so to help with norrowing down the choices here is a list of almost every band that I know, with the ones that I find exceptional in bold and the ones I find a waste of time in red. Obviously I highly recommend for people to follow up on the bands I've bolded, just ask away if you want to know which albums I think you should start with.

For starters, if you like Cynic and Canvas Solaris, you should get Exivious (a Cynic offshoot) and Counter-World Experience (a German band). Their latest albums, both released last year, are excellent, and should be right up your street.

Then, since you mention liking both Osanna and Il Balletto di Bronzo, you could do worse than get something by Biglietto per l'Inferno and Jumbo, two great Italian bands of the Seventies with a 'heavy-prog' approach rather than a symphonic one. Finally, since it seems you're into Hatfield and the North, the next logical step would be National Health (for three-quarters the same band), and obviously Egg, a must for Dave Stewart fans.

Well said, Andy! It seems that some people are taking your tastes a bit too personally. I am a huge Caravan fan, but would never think of taking you to task because you don't share my views.

Anyway, as regards the RPI stuff, since you live in Europe, have you tried BTF? They tend to have decent prices, and are one of the very best sources of Italian prog. Here's the link to their site: www.btf.it.

I know that none of the Zeuhl is bolded, but have you heard Dün or Weidorje or Happy Family?  They're all instrumental (with a few quick vocal sections here and there on the Dün and Weidorje), I don't know if that will affect how you look at them.  Also, since you like some Zeuhl and love Univers Zero and Present...you'd probably really enjoy Shub-Niggurath's Les Morts Vonte Vite.  It's got some of the Zeuhl heaviness and a lot of the Univers Zero darkness.  That's all I can think of now, if anything more comes to mind I'll let you know.

Also, I second the suggestion of National Health.  Great band.

And all that I said was giving him a recommendation would be a waste of my time.

How about Nevermore?

Oh, you like Comus!  You'd probably really enjoy Jan Dukes de Grey's album Mice and Rats in the Loft and probably Spirogyra's albums.  I've only heard their first, so I don't know which is best, but it's good.

This site is a big waste of time, albeit an enjoyable one for me.  Oh if only I could have that time back, what great things I might have accomplished.
