The copies are hard to find here in Aus, but with Marillion on the cover, I'll definitely hunt this one down. They also had a large spread on Marillion and the neo-prog movement in the Pink Floyd issue; fantastic stuff!

Hey, you guys,
I was looking at the Marillion score on PA and it turns out the sum of their (studio album) starpoints divided by 16 (I can't think of the word for the result of this action in English -_-') is equal to 3.53125. A score of 3.53 isn't bad for their entire studio-work, is it now? =D Well, I just wanted to make you aware of this ^^ Long Live Marillion, Joren

Great Joren, but, of course, our job on the Round Table is to push that up above four |

Well, their lowest rated studio album (Radiation) easily makes four stars for me, so thats a pretty good overall score!
Also, 4 live DVD's in the top 100 is a pretty good score |

I've always thought Radiation was a fine disc. Night #2 in Montreal was doing at least one song from every album with H (plus "Garden Party" and "Slange"), and when it came time for "Cathedral Wall" h made a snide comment that Radiation was a 'fan favorite'. In my opinion, I think it's better than Dotcom, Less = More and even This Strange Engine (even though the title track is better than anything off Radiation).
Sorry, Joel. I know TSE is your favorite. E |

Certainly Radiation is a more complete and whole album than both Dotcom & Less=More, although I do still think that this is a better album than you rate it, Eric.
I would put Radiation on a par with TSE, which is praise indeed. |

Well, to me it's always so hard to compare one Marillion album to another; you see, they all are totally different, in my perception and feeling about them, at least. I guess I'd rate Radiation higher than .com, though, but it is very difficult. Anyway, Radiation is a very underrated album, both here at the archives and the wild, wide world outside it!
What do you guys, think of "House" from .com, by the way? I think it stands rather poor next to the masterpiece that is "Interior Lulu". Joren

No need to apologise my friend! Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of .Com, as its now out of print Marillion.com hasn't restocked it yet, and copies on ebay and Amazon are getting pretty expensive. I might just go for buying the MP3's, although I really prefer to have CD's. |

It does seem awkward, doesn't it, Joren? Every time I think the album is completed with "Interior Lulu", up comes "House". It definitely doesn't sound right closing out the album. It's like having "Angelina" closing out Marbles after "Neverland". E |

Yes, my point exactly, "Hous" is a decent song (not one of my favourites at all, unlike "Angelina"), but it just doesn't seem right to end the album with it after such a powerful song as "Interior Lulu". I would never like "Angelina" as a closing song after "Neverland" on Marbles, or "Afraid of Sunrise" after the brutal "King" on Afraid of Sunlight, it just doesn't fit, does it?

Well, .com is a rather strange album, compared to Marillion's other issues, but, to me, it is actually very good! But, you do know "Interior Lulu", don't you? I can remember you talking about it - or was it the acoustic version? Anyhow, "A Legacy", "Enlightened" and "Interior Lulu" are the absolute highlights!

.Com to me is one of the lesser Marillion LPs. Interior Lulu is exceptional (although see my next post) and A Legacy and Enlightened also hit the mark. However, I think the band struggled to hit their usual highs on this album. |

I got Classic Rock Presents Prog 6 today (a little bit overdue) and it is well worth the wait.
The boys are tied in with a feature on album artwork, and, of course, Wilkinson features strongly and there is an interview with him. Highlight for me, though, is the interview with h - very candid. I won't spoil it for you all, as I know you will want to get it, but he did make an interesting comment about Interior Lulu on the Less=More album. He prefers the acoustic version, and, you know, I agree with him. |

Just reading the email myself!
All of it sounds good, especially the work on the new album To be honest, I would've prefered the band to skip L=M and start right on the new material, but I'm not complaining about more Marillion! Really good to see the boys doing so much charity work to start the new year, too! The response for the Water Charity has been great too, if you check out the page, they've got well over 1000 pounds in 3 days! |

Well, I do; and I guess Laz and Joel do as well. You should check it with the administration at marillion.com.
