It was, of course, at about this time that Hogarth began pleading with the press to reappraise the band in terms of being more like Radiohead than Genesis. I remember him ringing a BBC Radio phone in to say this when one of the guests, when discussing music, said how much he liked Kayleigh and wondered just what had happened to the band |

It really is hard to compare the two eras; I can understand how fans of the Fish era might not like the band with h, but I don't get how they can blatantly hate them like many on the internet do Here's a piece of supreme irony: |

Ha Ha. Where DID you get that from?
Fish in his Misplaced prime, being interviewed by Oooooh Gary Davies (you had to be there to get that one), on a video with H looking suspiciously like a New Romantic. And they say that the internet is a dull place |

There's quite a lot of rare interviews from Fish and Marillion on Youtube. This one's fantastic:

It's just my opinion. I know I've been away for a bit and that (to you) I'm new; but, as author of the thread I'd like to maintain it as a place where people can speak freely about this band while being respectful. You probably didn't mean anything by it, but "You kidding me" automatically discredits my opinion. We disagree on CSB vs. Beautiful, but I would never fire back with a 'You kidding me". E |

Laz, I'm seriously considering Holland. We've got a few months before tickets go on sale, but leaning pretty heavy in that direction.

Well, as you said, I didn't mean anything offensive with it - the words "'re You kidding me" incorporate my feelings of not-understanding (I can't think of the word for this on) why you think CSB is a lesser song than Beautiful. With the exclamation I meant to stimulate you to explain your opinion rather than feel attacked by it. I didn't mean to start the discussion CSB vs. Beautiful, I just wanted to know why you're keeping that opinion, seeing I've already tried to explain why I think CSB fits with the album. Nonetheless, I am truly sorry, you misunderstood what I was saying, please keep in mind, though, that I am not a native English speaker like you three are, maybe you would say it in a different way than I would: I meant no harm I am someone, who has made up his mind very fast and may come of relatively strong - I know it's your opinion, but I don't share it; I am allowed to say what I said and to mean what I meant, you didn't get my intentions when you read it, mainly due to the fact I used the wrong words, I guess. I actually saw this when it came out. It's from a very cheap real life TV show in Britain called Airline, which follows the staff & customers of Easy Jet, a budget airline owned by a Greek millionaire. I was approached at work by a friend, who told me that Marillion were appearing on that night's show. Being the TV and cultural snob I am, I had to ask him what the show was! |

The Laz household is now committed. This is hopefully the start of something great. We must keep this idea alive, and, of course, make sure we get tickets before they sell out |

It's quite alright. Like I said, when somebody here (at least) says it, it's sort of in the tone of "are you @#%! crazy??!!" E |

I'll be really surprised if my wife and kid comes along. For myself, I'm really going to make this happen. I've heard the European weekend is amazing. I've always wanted to see Holland, too. Montreal was my first trek out of the country and that's just on the other side of the border from Vermont, for crying out loud. E |

I'm incredibly envious!
I'd love to make it to the holland weekend, although between school and everything else its just not a realistic possibility for me. As I said, in 2012 (after I finish school) I definitely plan to travel, and hopefully have that coincide with a Marillion Weekend. Really hope you guys enjoy it - Would make quite a story for the Round Table! |

Joel, with any luck, the guys will be around and playing great music for many more years yet, and I'm hoping that there will be a return to the UK for the Convention in the not too distant future. As for the story for the Round Table, we do, of course, have to try to remain fully sober in order to present the full report |
