I really like Pink Floyd and probably will for years to come, I take a break from them and can get a little burned out, but I doubt I will ever stop listening to them completely, especially because wish you were here and darkside of the moon are among my favorite albums of all time.

Don't get me wrong here, because I love 100 other bands *almost* as much...

But im gonna have to jump on the "Pink Floyd is the best band ever" bandwagon.

They just were. In my opinion, every single album is worth listening to, and from Atom Heart Mother to The Wall (inclusive) it's all absolutely essential, 5 star listening.

I get tired of hearing "Hey You" but I don't have to listen. FM plays alot of Floyd, true, and its hard to box the bands style. Its not like Im gonna hear King Crimson on the radio anyway

assume the power 1586/14.3

I can't believe people complain about a band like Pink Floyd being played too much on the radio, lucky you! Here it's mostly reggaeton and that kind of sh*t except for a couple of decent stations.

In the end the love you take is equal to the love you made...

I actually got acquainted with an excellent Dominican rock band called El Trio when I got their album to review for ProgressoR.  They seem not to be on the list, however, so if you want to learn more, here's the link to my review (I believe they have a new album out too):

Many thanks, prog mistress!Clap That's exactly I'm looking for...you know I'm a sucker for prog from 'small' countries!! Moreover, from your review, it seems very interesting! Punky edge Living Colour meets King Crimson! I'll check it.

Oh, I guess the pic right of you is our Olav, and on the left Vitaly? The others are unfamiliar to me.

Vitaly is the guy with the big mustache... Incidentally ,he is featured here with his band X-Religion (from Uzbekistan, so right up your alley).

No. If anything, I think PT deserve to be more popular. I think they deserve the level of success that Radiohead and Tool have: popular whilst still maintaining their integrity. I mean, they are well-known amongst the prog community, but the NMEs and Rolling Stones of this world either ignore them or don't know they exist. I think its criminal that a guy of SW's talent gets ignored for twenty years or however long he's been in the game.

Back on topic, I enjoy Pink Floyd as much as the next guy, but I think of them the same way I think about Star Wars in terms of sci fi cinema. You have your Dr Who, Star Trek, Blade Runner, Battlestar Galactica, and all anyone ever goes on about is Star Wars. I feel the same about Floyd. They're a great band, but ask a non-progger, and the only name they can come up with is Floyd (or maybe Yes).
Hello, mirror. So glad to see you, my friend. It's been a while...

Still dont understand how people dont see Post Barret PF are a fake. Listen and go to sleep. The ones not liking the band as me i think we deserve as much respect as the ones who loves them, and if we want to talk about how much we dislike the band Whats the fuss about it? were talking about holy grial with a christian?. I feel people liking PF taking their defense almost religiously! ! But precisely these actitude makes me wanna go again saying what i feel.

Two albums Meddle and Animals. Listen to them a few times a year. Never get sick of them. I will review Meddle now because that's what I am listening to right now.

Why?
What is the point?
What do you gain by doing it?
Is the band going to change?
Will the fans agree with you and stop liking the band?

Do you post in every thread on every other band you do not like? How about Yes... do you not like them? What about Atomic Rooster? Focus? Van der Graaf Generator? Hawkwind? Hawkwind without Lemmy? Hawkwind without Calvert? Hawkwind without Turner? Gong? Gong without Hillage? Gong without Allen? Gong without Moerlen? Gong without Smyth? Gong without Holdsworth?...

If you don't like a band, fine, good for you, congratulations, whoopee!
Personal taste is like that, it's personal.

So, now what? Join the Unappreciation Society? Become a card-carrying member of the Official Unfan Club? Where is this going?

I don't get it.

I don't understand the need to tell people that like a band that they are wrong.

Is this a problem with the band, or the fans that support them "religiously"?

I don't understand why you would expect fans not to react - what do you think they will to do? Nod and smile?

Ouch

What?
