What kind of religion doesn't allow for wenches? You can call your wife a wench if you like! (Better than harpy me thinks).

There is no Old Norse Paganism option, think of the Vikings!
You don't need wenches and beer when you have villages to rape, pillage and steal mead from.

This could be option 1 if you were a fundementalist Norse Pagan?

Maybe, Vikings don't condone violence though. That village was simply asking for it.

The way this poll is set up, I think I'm somewhere between the bottom two options. I'd have to choose the final option because I wouldn't say I embrace "mysticism" - and to be honest I don't think of myself as very spiritual either. That said, I consider many things in my life (primarily my wife and kids) to be a blessing - whether one considers that from "God" or whatever, I don't know, but I feel very fortunate.

Of course I can't say I think the poll is fair at the outset. If I believe in the Bible I'm apparently not rational.

I have to say I'm a little afraid of the one who voted fundamentalist condoning violence. We should hunt him down and beat him with wrenches (or maybe just let the wenches beat him with wrenches).

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

You are if you regard of the Bible as "empirical evidence". This would be a tangent for all the other discussions we already had ... if you like you can think of yourself as simply smarter than those who are merely rational.
| Nah- I wouldn't be so presumptuous. Anyway, pizza's here.

It sounds brilliant. At least we now know who voted for it.

I'm not totally rational. Neither am I religious. At least not as religious as you are good Mike. You are starting to look like you fit perfectly in option number 2 (I assume you reject violence....)
By the way, how can we call an atheist crusade? A rationade? Atheade? gatorade? Because this is what this is...

I believe life is too short to be worrying about these things. Go out there, do good and have a great f**king time while you're doing it, helping the human race along the best you can. People can spend years thinking about this kind of thing, but to me it's just a waste of valuable time, because nobody actually cares. No decent person would think any less of you whether you are Atheist, Theist or believe that humanity was born from custard. Therefore, the only person that REALLY gives a toss about what you believe in is you, and to me, that causes way too much mental stress. Let's all just drink, have sex, laugh and help the needy like we've always done *raises pipnt glass*. I'd rather die happy and ignorant than die worrying if there is a heaven or not.

I'm religious by tradition and general message I voted.
Not that I don't take the bible seriously. There's parts of it that I still need to understand though.

No 8: I'm totally rational and will accept theoretical and well as empirical evidence.
