Topic: Battle of the Prog Bands: Round 1, Division 1 Posted: January 02 2010 at 18:07 |
"Battle of the Prog Bands" is a tournament I set up where you vote for your favorite Progressive Rock group out of the selections given, all part of a bracket to find the greatest Progressive Rock group of all time. This round, we are doing the first part out of three to find the best Symphonic Prog group. Your choices are Renaissance, The Flower Kings, Genesis, and Anglagard.
Here's the bracket so far:
Personally, I'm going to have to vote for Genesis, my favorite band of all time.

So because of that, I'll go ahead and vote for Annie Haslam's voice.

Almost academic work?!! I voted for Genesis ( even if don't like them too much). Because Renaissance is too marginal (for symphonic prog), and Anglagard and Flower Kings both are just good immitators (no innovators).

I can't help thinking the seedings have given Pink Floyd a free run through to the final.

Tough. I love Renaissance and Anglagard, but I love Genesis that little bit more.

I'll vote for The Flower Kings, but that's because I know Genesis will stand for the next 3 rounds while TFK won't.

Oh, well. Genesis for me, please. Maybe it's dumb, but I can't help myself.

Flower Kings gets my vote. This is a pretty awesome "Battle" you have going on here! Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Great work! The tournament drawn so that mainstream bands do not get to the end. In this round genesis , but Ill vote for FZ , Miles or KC to get to the finals

It's a shame that only one of Yes or Genesis will make it past round 2.
