Oh damn, Wayside used to have it but they're out now. I should have gotten it when I had the chance but I was lazy.

Pinot Grigio is not very manly, Rob.

I brag about my penis size and do push-ups while I drink it though.

Oh well...that...

I've got a stash in the fridge.  It will come out later.  I just got a good deal a nice bottle today, and incidentally I cooked the best pork chops I've ever had.  No shame, no regrets, no money.

That music is boatloads of fun though.  By the way, do you like Vic Wooten?  Bela Fleck and the Flecktones?

Then I'd stop by for some chops and that pinot.

Although: pork with white wine. Hmm.

I'm gonna get back in touch with wines during the holidays, but last time I remember, Syrahs were close to my favorite.

I see...incidentally, Shiraz (as it's said here) is probably my least favorite wine.

And incidentally, I also found myself being able to mentally complete much of the music on Hazards this time around, even though I only heard it once before and that was a week or two ago. But, unlike you, I find that, and getting songs stuck in my head, extremely annoying. You've mentioned a few times how if you find yourself humming a song later you'll bump up its rating, and I cannot see the inherent value in that.

I actually can appreciate that.

For me, music should be memorable (I try to refrain from saying "catchy," since I don't think most prog would be memorable to the typical music lover), but I certainly understand where you are coming from (and perhaps you can see why I try but cannot seem to enjoy most avant artists).

I don't begrudge anyone not understanding avant-garde music, I realize it's not something that everybody can get because it's rejecting everything that most people find good. It only upsets me when people assume that since it sounds like crap to them, there's nothing there and we're a bunch of pretentious w**kers. And when people listen to Nickelback. ;-)

I used to think Vic was the best thing to hit a bass since sliced bread, but then I realized that a lot of the time his playing just gets on my nerves, he seems too much about showing off most of the time and not enough about playing a good bass line.  As for the Flecktones, yeah, I like them.  Vic's playing is often a bit more low key on what I've heard of theirs, which is IMO a good thing.

...Then again, I remember a wine thread, in which most said they like it dry and white. I found myself wondering if I'm the only one who's driven mad by the full sweet richness of any red kind.

Well, I think avant / RIO and so forth is harder music to make.  Well...to make well.

I find it strange how high the ratings are on nearly everything any Zeuhl, RIO or Avant band puts out.  Come on...if everything in the goddamn genre is good, then you need to lower your standards.

And yes, Nickelback blows.  Unoriginal turds.

One of the most true statements ever.
