Man I can't wait to listen to X. I'm really excited to hear more of Klaus' music after hearing Velvet Voyage here.

Hell yeah you should be excited. I hope you know it's totally different from Mirage, though.
Ever heard Irrlicht? It's like that but more epic and insanely good production values.

Irrlicht has the orchestral elements, but it's more ambient and less operatic. It also has no electric synthesizers. It's ochestral and electric organ.

Well X is going to be my first album from Klaus, I'm hoping I enjoy it enough that I want to seek out more of his stuff. Even though Dune has a fairly average rating I kind of want to check it out after X and Mirage and Timewind since I'm a big fan of the books. Any thoughts?

Dune...
Hm. It's not entirely remarkable. It'a HUGE step away from X. A lot of it is musique concrete. It's got no orchestra from what I can remember and has little sequencer. It's a very ambient and moody album. I love Dune (the book) too, but I don't see this album representing the epic sands and twisted visions of Arrakis too well. It's an odd entry. It's still pretty good, though. Try Kontinuum. It's one of my favorite Schulze releases and one of my favorites from 2007.

Alright, once I get around to checking out more of his stuff I'll keep Kontinuum in mind. I think now it's time to sleep though, I think I may have to wake up early tomorrow and it's 3am.

Awesome man, hope you enjoy it! I currently have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Plus which I won in a school raffle the year before last, although I still can't play anything other than 4 chords.Still fun to fool around on, though!
How long have you been playing for?

About eight years now, which is hard to believe when listening to my playing I could be much better if I'd put any effort into it, but I've always found rehearsing stuff way too boring... My second electric guitar was an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, but it's a bit messed up now so that one of the pick ups doesn't work. One day I'll get it sorted out, like my first one which was Squier Affinity Strat. That's a great guitar to strum about without amplification, but sounds like crap when plugged in.

I think that I have a new front runner for album of the year. I really, really enjoyed my first listen to IZZ's The Darkened Room. I'll have to give it a few more listens, along with my other front runners, but this really izz the first one that really hit the happy spot on its first listen.

A trip to the library yesterday netted me some interesting albums that I will be able to check out for a first time to see what y'all are talking about. I was able to find Animal Collective's MPP, the Sigur Ros album with the naked guys on it , Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica, and Dredg's Catch Without Arms.

Good luck with MPP, Scott, you may enjoy that one.
TMR is fantastic; not sure how you'll respond to it though. You should like Sigur Ros and dredg the most, probably.

They should make for interesting listens. I'm not quite sure what to expect. (The damn enter key isn't working on my new laptop now. Grrr)

Currently, I'm doing this huge download of some highly obscure band called "Casualties of Applied Metaphysics." I wonder if they are any good.
