Kayo Dot isn't post metal though. Wink (Dammit, you beat me to it, James. LOL) I could give you a recommendation for either band, but I'd need to know what you're interested in.

And yes, he does. It's already become an addiction for me. Embarrassed

I'm not averse to post-rock or post-metal but I am averse to bands that just play in those styles.  Mix it up a bit guys and girls!

That's why I like The Pax Cecilia's Blessed are the Bonds.  It's not just post-metal but a lot more.

Sorry. Embarrassed

And yes, I have two Coltrane albums on CD myself now.  I just haven't had the time to play them yet.  I also have some Mingus (who I may actually end up preferring over Coltrane) and Ornette Coleman.

Experimental Metal.

Not so much Post.

I think they may have even been Avant-prog at one point but I think I'm getting them confused with maudlin of the Well.

I keep hearing that that's a good album. Need to get it.

I also need the Present album/collection or whatever you'd call it that has their first 2 albums.

I could also do with the Supersister one as well. Not to mention all the other new avant stuff I need.

I'm tempted.

However, I'm not exactly enjoying the job that much.  Maybe with more responsibility, things will be better.

I just get the feeling though that I'm completely useless at the job (not that I am incapable; I just have no real reason to want to be diligent at it) and they'd rather take on someone that isn't me or the next Work Placement guy.

Of course, that's not the attitude to have, of course.

Also, having just had two days off due to a cold (I did call in and my line manager said it was fine) doesn't look good.  Also turning up most days at 9:15 when I'm supposed to be there at 9:00 is also not good.  Not 'phoning people when I should, is also not good.  Making bad errors is also not good.

So in those terms, I do not feel that they want me.  Although I do seem to get on with the staff... although at the same time I don't.  It's hard to explain.

I have 'til Monday to apply for it and erm... I have a day off Monday, so that's not good.

I do have one advantage though: I know the system already having worked there for 3 months.  Although I am still learning new stuff.

I really am not sure though if this is a kick in the teeth or they want me to work there.  Do you think I should mention it on Friday when I'm back, or do you think I should just fill in the Application Form and not mention it?

It couldn't hurt to ask them about it. Let them know you're applying for it or that you want the job. All they could say is no.

Kayo Dot's first album is the only one you could even call "metal," really

I basically need to stop time, so I can actually listen to music again.

I've been playing Dragon Age: Origins in my spare time (not all of it, mind you).  I still have 2009 albums to hear before year's end too.

Bad times.

True.

I shall ask my advisor tomorrow for her opinion.  She may have some insight (incite?).

It has annoyed me a bit though.  Nobody has once mentioned there was a job available.  I wish they had done so, to be honest.  True, I have had Tuesday and Wednesday off but they would have decided there was a job available last week and I was in Monday and I did call in the other two days.  All it needed was a "by the way, your job is now available for part-time paid work; you might want to apply for it".  Of course, if they don't actually want me, then fair enough.  But I am a little put-out about it, nevertheless.

Yep.  I shall play it eventually.  I have so little time available at the moment. Cry  Even having two days off ill didn't help.  I've been in bed for most of that time.
