I dislike U2 the most... I think they are the most overrated band in the history of earth... Bono's voice is weak and ugly and the music is so plain... but I know that too many people adore them... so... Coldplay and Maroon 5, Nickelback and System of a Down are my choices... just ugly uninspired music...

Heres my 'top 3'

3. Brokencyde (some scene-kid band, completely image based and totally superficial to the point of being ridiculous. they exemplify everything that is wrong with commercial, disposable music. I would recommend their masterpiece 'FreaXXX' to listen to, but you have to watch the video as well on youtube; thats where the humor is. It's honestly better than Suppers Ready, 2112, and A Change Of Seasons combined, no joke. Wink

2. Anal C*nt (by their name alone, which i had to censor, you should get a good idea of what this band is about. It's best translated as grindcore noise with the most twisted hilarious lyrics of all time. It's essentially a 'concept band' as a protest against 'music' itself. listen to a few songs, they're usually on average about 20 seconds long. read the lyrics too! thats a must. Tongue

1. The White Mice (I cannot even begin to describe.. possibly, they are the most progressive, avant-garde band of all time; i really don't know. what they SOUND like to me though are probably some of the worst sounds ever combined on record. However, the white mice are notable for being the world's leading noisecore satanic mouse-themed band. a sure essential. check out their myspace!!!
Regarding the Satanic mouse themed-band, things can get very scary when your camping in the woods and a sing-song chant is traveling through the breeze which later turns into the pounding of barrels sounding quite like the kettle drums on Ben Hur.Shocked

I vote Grand Funk Railroad to be the all time worst band in the world. At least until Kiss took over.
Captain Beyond I thought was a bit of a joke.
Led Zeppelin II    There is some God awful guitar playing on that record. The solo in the center of Heartbreaker sounds like a 10 year old who has just learned a blues scale and is frustrated over the fact that he can not play it clean. Mr. slop king. Everytime he switches to a different string with his guitar pick, it would appear that he is unable to block the strings which are not being played.  And to top things off, he starts hitting all the strings which are suppose to be blocked. So now it gets truly annoying. Many of his passages or riffing are sometimes technical regarding the finger stretches but he just doesn't know how to play them very fluent.    To me that is why I feel they have zero importance.

Boston.....It's just sugar pured all over the place. A market in Stadium rock.

Mountain....Very lame.
Iron Butterfly........In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is truly the worse thing that could have happened to the 60's.
The Guess Who.......Oh my God.

 .......

Any reggaeton band... it isn't music it's only people saying obscenities to the rhythm of a 4/4 metronome-like bass... I live in Venezuela and it is just EVERYWHERE in the radio, in the streets, in my nightmares, in my bathroom, AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! (I am starting to think that the Jonas Brothers aren't that bad after all )

Brokencyde's creations (I refuse to call it music- that infers a vaguely listenable sound) will always stick out as being among the worst sounds I have ever heard. I couldn't listen to them for more than a few straight seconds because it just sounded so horrible. I don't want to ever have to hear them again.

Any 'emo' band. I'm not even that old (I'm 27), and I just don't get it. All these kids wearing black eyeliner, and tight pants. I just want to give them some real music. If they think Fall Out Boy is edgy and aggressive, I just want to say 'Here, have some Mastodon or Slayer, etc'.

Emo is just a watered down, corporate idea of what punk and goth is supposed to be.

Also, Nickelback. Dear god, no. They make Creed look like they rocked out like Black Sabbath!

Any kind of artless, corporate Top 40 pop.

Bland bands like U2, Coldplay, etc. Well, I don't HATE these bands with a passion, but they don't really do much creatively. Just release the same stuff you expect, with every album.

The movement originated in bands like Rites of Spring, so that's not true. And I don't think people listen to Fall Out Boy to be edgy. Interestingly enough, when Fall Out Boy announced their indefinate hiatus, Pete Wentz said "I think the world needs a little less Pete Wentz" At least he has some self-awareness.

And as for edginess, noise>metal. :P

I hate how they used to be a pretty good post-punk band before descending into Americana-Techno-Messianic mediocrity.

I can't stand THE CULT. The lamest hard-rock-wannabe product.

There's plenty of music I can't stand, but this forehead begs for a crosshair tattoo:

Heh. I have a friend who listens to the original emo (Rites of Spring, Dashboard Confessional etc.) and is tired of not just hearing bands like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance and Panic at the Disco described as emo but also that nobody remembers the early-1990s punk bands originally referred to as "emo" with the obvious exception of Fugazi.
