Well all three of you voted against my wife, who said Dream Theater solely on the basis of how much she can't stand Geddy Lee singing.
She'll get a kick outta this...

What's wrong with Rush? also, I think I'll join in on Aphex Twin. I don't think I'm going to have an exam in Visual Basic. Thank you snow!

I think I have two exams left, one of which will be simple and one of which will be...medium difficulty. I'm going to miss my jazz history class, it was genuinely fun. All we usually did was listen to music for about an hour and a half.

Everything from the earliest known jazz up until some of John Zorn's works and the like...only problem was that fusion only got one day. I know for a fact though that the teacher is a big fan of Soft Machine and Frank Zappa, I've talked with him about each group after class. Same with the substitute teacher we had for two and a half weeks.

It would be great to listen to "Facelift" in class, I used to try and think up ways to have that kind of stuff played in class at high school.

We were going to listen to something from Third if the regular teacher had been there (he asked me if I could bring the CD as he only has the album on vinyl) but unfortunately the sub taught the fusion day and he's never heard of SM.

I had a jazz history class, but we barely even reached Fusion chronologically--unfortunately.

"Open Secrets" is one of their best. I also enjoy "Time Stand Still."

Hold Your Fire is actually one of my favorite Rush albums (if there is such a thing).

If I ever taught a music history/appreciation class I'd only play the most avant-garde stuff I know of. It would be fun (for me).

I can imagine myself sitting at my desk laughing while everyone cringes as I force them to listen to Merzbow. There would be a very long section on RIO/Avant as well.
