It's pretty much impossible for me to see the naked female form in anything but a sexual context. That doesn't mean I want to bang the 13 year olds in the Sally Mann picture, but I can't look at an "artistic nude" and think of it as an abstract expression of beauty and art. I don't know if that makes me a bad person (don't worry about saying yes, I am already pretty sure I am). |
It's hard to separate the two, but I guess it's possible. I think it's funny how most of society reacts to nudity. I was reading something about people wanting to censor this famous picture:

I would never ever spend two hours trying to figure something in a game out, and it baffles me that people do. After five minutes I'm hitting the walkthrough.
OK Person, but that's not the same, that's f**king depressing. Also, that's a child, not a girl, so it's not the same.

No, it's not really the same, but the fact people would want to censor both is what annoys me.

That just strikes me as impatient though. I'd give something 15 minutes or so before I hit the walkthrough. Usually because before I even do that, I realize I didn't try the one idea that I thought was stupid and it works.

I hate that, although sometimes I get lucky the first time through and solve a puzzle, and when I replay it I can't figure it out again.

Which is why I'm so unwilling to devote a lot of time to them. If you can't make it clear enough that something isn't stupid, I'm not going to waste time flailing around trying to find the answer.

I did that with the only difficult puzzle in RE, and it was an optional puzzle, but it got you one of the gems for the Beerstein. You have to rotate some kind of mechanism to make it highlight a certain 3 symbols, and it took me about 2 minutes to get it right the first time. The second time, I had to use a walkthrough and it took me about 10 minutes.

The thing is, there is a difference between a puzzle and a puzzle with no instructions.

Three Friends is one of my top 3, along with Free Hand and The Power and the Glory.

My favorite GG album would have to be "Octopus." Great stuff.
Not on topic, but Brian Eno is a freakin' genius. I was really craving beautiful music, and no other songs seemed to do it for me, but "Here Comes the Warm Jets" easily satisfied my hunger.

I like Octopus, but it's probably one of my least favorites from GG. Top 5 for me are (in no real order) Free Hand, P&tG, 3 Friends, Acquiring the Taste, and In a Glass House.

Down there with "Giant for A Day"? (Now there's a 1-star album.)

I don't have Giant for a Day yet, but I have everything up through Interview and as well I have Civilian. Civilian so far has last place.

Now seriously, why the f*ck did they make Ocarina Of Time so hard? | Where are you in the game? I will help you get un-stuck if necessary. |
I'm up to the part where you use the iron boots and Zora tunic to enter the Water Temple, and although I re-found princess Ruto, I've been looking for like 2 hours to re-find her after I was meant to "follow" her | I can't remember the order you have to drain the water in to get the first 3 keys, and then to the room where you fight Dark Link for the Longshot.
Oh, and you don't see her again until she re-awakens as a sage. If you want me to guide you through it, you can always PM me, Joel. Or if you don't want to, look for a video on Youtube. Since that's what I would do. |
After one hour of focussed Zelda'ing, I've got the longshot and am making good progress I think. I never used videos on YouTube or guides, they ruin games for me because I can never stop looking

Have someone read the part you need to you, and that way you don't look. When I'm stuck I start systematically searching every room, and try to find things that respond to input, for example, switches/lamps.

First of all, you ALWAYS save before temples. Second of all, you ALWAYS save before the motherf**king water temple of goddamned doom.

Why are the water temples always the hardest?
