Less than 10 minutes is unsatisfactory.

Word. I almost got Nowhere/Slideshow/Thin Air, but I decided against it because there are lots of Frith records I should be getting before that one. And if you're wondering why I chose that Zorn, it's because Okkyung Lee is on it (and the Wadada Leo Smith), and Stolas was really good. That art booklet better be worth the extra 7 dollars...

I'm trying to get Check For Monsters for Christmas.

And the sad thing is that whole order only gives me five entries on a 2009 list! I still need to also get Check for Monsters, at the very least.

Also Pat, did you see the Paul Dunmall CDs on blowout? He plays with Mujician and 4 other brass players, it sounds pretty great.

Good order Henry. Spiritual Dimensions is a great album. That reminds me that I need to get Black River still.

The sample I heard from Nature/Culture by Peter Evans was awesome, you should check it out (I have recently become interested in solo albums because a performer has to work hard to keep the listener's interest), but why can't Evan Parker get a freaking US distribution outlet for psi!? It's cheaper to buy it from him and pay the awful exchange rate than buy it from Squidco or something. Granted, it seems he charges about a pound flat for shipping, which is really great for international orders. But $43 for a single and a double album with shipping isn't so bad, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.

Also, Peter Evans Quartet is on eMusic, although I haven't listened to it. He apparently is regarded as a modern visionary among avant jazz enthusiasts, and I can see why from the samples.

I'll tell you how Black River is, it got good reviews from the places where I could find it, but there aren't any lengthy samples. That's the problem with these collaborations, since they're a duo and not a real "band", they don't bother to set up a website.

Pat, eMusic has the first 4/3 de Trio album, so I am now the proud downloader of that album too.  I hope that it is good as Ersatz.

I cried tears of joy. Also, you can totally see her nipples in the beginning, which I don't think is appropriate for a wedding video!

I can't listen anymore to songs that don't go anywhere. They're just playing the same thing for 5 minutes, and the only reason it ends there is because that's when they got tired of listening to it themselves and stopped.

It's always nice to think that I have an obscure and "out-there" taste in music whenever I talk to my fellow students.
