Pat, do you understand why I might call Cheer-Accident generic avant-rock? Because I think I really upset Trouserpress. ;-)

I might say "avant-rock", particularly as ProgArchives views it is too niche to even have something one would call "generic"; that said, I do know what you mean, related to Thinking Plague etc., and I can see why that type of music wouldn't appeal to you.  I'll tell Trouserpress not to worry because you upset everybody at one time or another.  Wink

I really should study some for exams next week until I leave for work. But I studied Accounting all of last night, and I feel wiped. So tomorrow SUPER STUDYING PERIOD OF INSANITY BEGINS UNTIL NEXT THURSDAY!

At least I only had one class today.

If you have two bands in a single genre, and they both sound exactly the same, I would call the second one generic. ;-) And being contrarian is the only way to be consistent. ;-)

In other news, people are dumb.

I already knew people were dumb, but stories like that always reaffirm it.

Like my one Speech class a few semesters ago. We had to research a topic and present on it (can't remember the guidelines) and some girl used The Onion as her primary source. The professor had to explain to her after she finished what The Onion was.

I hope I get that someday in the world of Finance, but I doubt that's going to happen. Ouch

I'm still not sure which is sadder:  the fact that she used The Onion or that the professor gave her a 'B' anyway.

The professor gave her a 'B' because most of college is a joke and doling out bad grades isn't worth the hassle.

Someone should start an online "encyclopedia", and write articles for money.

@Pat: Couldn't agree more.

What is this "online encyclopedia" thing you refer to, Matt? The closest thing I can think of is Wikipedia. Wink

Basically, I'm saying someone should start a business creating fake articles. I don't how useful it would be, but it would be fun.

Oh, I see.

You might want to talk to this new organization about your ideas called "The Onion". They sound like they'd be willing to hear you out. Tongue

Speaking of which, new English alphabet!

Using the Onion as a primary source is almost as bad as using me as a primary source for a paper.

Generic avant-rock?  Isn't that like an oxymoron?  I didn't think that avant-garde music had one "generic" sound.
