I might say "avant-rock", particularly as ProgArchives views it is too niche to even have something one would call "generic"; that said, I do know what you mean, related to Thinking Plague etc., and I can see why that type of music wouldn't appeal to you.  I'll tell Trouserpress not to worry because you upset everybody at one time or another.

Like my one Speech class a few semesters ago. We had to research a topic and present on it (can't remember the guidelines) and some girl used The Onion as her primary source. The professor had to explain to her after she finished what The Onion was.

The closest thing I can think of is Wikipedia.

Basically, I'm saying someone should start a business creating fake articles. I don't how useful it would be, but it would be fun.

Using the Onion as a primary source is almost as bad as using me as a primary source for a paper.
