BAH, NO! Angry

Yours is one of my favorite avatars around here. Plus, as Robert was saying, I heavily associate people with their avatars and when they change them it REALLY bothers me.

Embarrassed

But really, I haven't been enjoying Yes lately.

I hardly ever listen to most of the music I grew up with lately. I'm just discovering so much other stuff; and I'm 100% satisfied with that.

I have no desire to listen to Yes or some other bands for a while.

Person, your AV is a classic.  I predict there will be rioting in the streets if you change it.  Wink
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

I just never pictured you listening to them.

To be honest though, I'm not all that familiar with their music. What's your verdict?

I only sampled 2009's Eternal cause, well, I caught the indie/alternative flu.

A few grimaces here and there, but on the whole enjoyable.

I also re-listened to Flaming Lips before Sonic Youth, if you can imagine that. Tongue

Which album, Robert?

Well...I've only heard it a handful of times...but...good lord:

Pictorial Wand Face of Our Fathers album cover
I almost didn't bother getting this based on the bio and the two reviews of it.  Geezus (as Harry would say) I'm really glad I did.

As of right now, it's my symphonic album of the year for sure.

Hmmm... may have to check that out then.

It wasn't cheap though...and I don't know what drew me to it.  I guess I bought it out of desperate disappointment of symphonic prog this year...so much in that genre has sucked.  Plus, I was intrigued by the artwork and the song titles.

I am expecting The Whirlwind to come in soon though...and when I get it...I'll...*searches for something clever to say*...I'll "give it a whirl."  Wink

Despite my genre specialty tag, you know how I feel about the modern Symphonic scene in general. It hardly interests me.

But I may have to check that one out.

Let's see...

not sure how to describe it....try Kansas plus Dream Theater with a chick singing also- but the "metal" is not overpowering (like the latter band can be)...just emphasizing that the music is heavier symphonic fare.

I may do that once I stop being swamped with homework.

Aphex Twin is amazing. Love his debut especially.

Have you heard SAW volume 2? It reminds me of Eno's ambient work.

I only have a few times; I really should give it another listen.

It's pretty good though. Definitely, it is more ambient than Richard's other stuff.

Beth Gibbons could try to help me with my Tax homework, but I don't know how that would end.
