Savatage is actually one of my favorite metal bands ever. If you don't have their album "Streets: A Rock Opera", you're missing out on a lotWink

Their early stuff is pure heavy/power metal, but later on they incorporated some prog and symphonic metal leanings. Once Jon Oliva was no longer the vocalist and was replaced by Zac Stevens, their music was almost complete symphonic metal with little hair metal leanings.

I have Hall of the Mountain King through Edge of Thorns. Of those 4, Streets is probably my least favorite to be honest. I'd say I like EoT or Hall the most.

It wasn't cheap though...and I don't know what drew me to it.  I guess I bought it out of desperate disappointment of symphonic prog this year...so much in that genre has sucked.  Plus, I was intrigued by the artwork and the song titles.

I am expecting The Whirlwind to come in soon though...and when I get it...I'll...*searches for something clever to say*...I'll "give it a whirl."  Wink

Overall, I simply ended up on the appreciated side.

Nonetheless, my symph/neo chart is still a mess, by another listen I'll definitely sort out the seeds and the weeds.

Despite my genre specialty tag, you know how I feel about the modern Symphonic scene in general. It hardly interests me.

But I may have to check that one out.
