I'm listening to Tangerine Dream right now.  Wow, this is very lovely and dreamy music.

What album?

"Hyperborea."  I don't know what you think of this album, I think it's considered one of their more accessible efforts, but I'm really impressed.

I was thinking about that. I love that album, it is the only Caravan I have though. Perhaps I'll listen to it.

I've heard the song on youtube, and I loved it. I don't have the album.

Um, Caravan?  I do really like Caravan though, I have "In the Land of Grey and Pink" and "For Girls Who Grow Plump In the Night" (best album title everTongue)  Both are four-star albums from me, probably my favorite Cantebury group.  I like that they still have the Cantebury sound, but still incorporate some Symphonic into their works.

I assume you refer to The Land of Grey and Pink.  It's a great album.  I like For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night just about as much anymore, though it had to grow on me some.

Yeah, I saw your post in the other thread, so I assumed you thought I would know what you are talking about.

For me, the favorite is either National Health, Gong, Khan or Caravan.  Probably National Health.

Another favorite is Hatfield and The North.  Can't say I'm a big fan of Gong, though.  Too much silliness from me, and they're not even from Cantebury.  I think they should be in Psych/Space

Nah, I think all Canterbury shares the some of the silliness.

Well, lyrically, yes.  But Gong also did it musically as well.

I can't believe I forgot HatN...and even more surprising, I forgot the Soft Machine!  Their second album is one of my favorites by any band.

I think Pink Floyd's Piper prepared me for it.

I have Third, I think that is what I'll listen to, thanks. Smile

The funny thing is, I really enjoy "Piper."  I really don't know why Gong doesn't appeal to me, just a bit too silly, I guess.

If you're a fan of jazz fusion, you should try out some of the Moerlen-led Gong albums, such as Gazeuse!  They're pretty different from the earlier Gong.  I prefer the silly humour of the earlier albums, but I love Gazeuse! as well.

Eh, what? Confused

I'm with James on this one.

The fact that the guy admitted that he can't write a 3 minute song bothers me somewhat.

I'm listening to Fourth now.  Good album, but for me it and Fifth are a couple steps below Volumes 1 and 2 and Third.
