How about recording the sounds from the delivery room? You could sample your daughters first cries and breaths into your first foray with brass instruments?

Actually, I like that.
At the very end of one track on STW, you can hear my son crying in the background because the guitar mic picked him up.
|
That would be interesting to do. It would be a great intro/outro to a song, like at the end of Division Bell.
| I would rather use my guitars and keyboards to double the sound of the crying...match each pitch, volume, and quaver.

It just amazes me how much Syd got right on tape, at a time when he was supposedly coming apart. I believe Norman Smith deserves some credit, as does Richard Wright. More so than anyone else in the band.

...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

I forgot how much fun it is to bass jam along with records. Just had a lovely Rajaz jam.

I jam to Bartok.
Every day.
The tempos in the Sonata are so fast, and I have so many clusters and cascading octaves and syncopated jumps, I always miss some and screw some.
So it's a Bartok-Parau version of the Sonata.

I can't believe I actually didn't save all my homework until Sunday for a change. It feels so much more relaxing that way.

I only had to read a few pages of a chapter this weekend, since I just took tests and haven't been assigned anything. I'm listening to the avant jazz/free jazz radio on pandora.

I'm hardly a jazz aficiando, but I agree that John Coltrane is awesome.

I've been listening to some Miles/Coltrane albums lately (surprise surprise), and Coltrane always tends to steal the show. Brilliant soli all the way.

If my wife's contractions continue like this for another 30 minutes, we're out of here!

Have your equipment ready if you still think that is a good idea for a song.
