My dinner was awesome by the way. I had a plate full of these mussels, I don't know what they were, but they were served in the shell covered in tasty cheese. I also had a plate full of various kinds of shrimp 'n' stuff, I don't remember what else. Dinner took 2 hours, and my cousin in law is hot.

In love with your cousin-in-law, that's not too immoral, is it? I've always wondered what it would be like if two brothers married two sisters. I mean, it's not necessarily inbreeding if your brother-in-law is actually your brother. Edited by gottagetintogetout - November 28 2009 at 21:20 |

She is my cousin-in-law, so she's married. And no, I'm not in love with her. She already has a kid, hence the reason my uncle was up from Va., it's his first grandkid. The preservatives and crap they put in the food does not agree with my stomach. |

I have their album Ys, it's pretty awesome. My favorite RPI band is Area, though. |

I don't have enough from the JR/F genre or Electronic really to say for sure, but they're both definitely up there for me as well. I have a lot of straight jazz though, so I guess that can start to make up for my lack of oodles of JR/F. And yeah, the Klaus Schulze box is only 64 hours of material, that's like 2 songs really. |

Yes, "Ys" is an awesome album indeed. Sorry to say, but I'm not a huge fan of Area. You're probably going to roll your eyes when I tell you this, but they're a little too challenging for my tastes. I think that IBDB is the perfect balance of challenging and accessible music.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. |

No problem with that...I just love the sense of semi-controlled insanity that goes on in Area's music. Plus Demetrio Stratos is an amazing vocalist. |

The funny thing is, I loved organized chaos, but Area's vocals are what sort of gets in the way. I don't know, non-conventional vocals usually bug me.

And yet you like what you've heard of Magma with their whooping-chanting-screaming-singing mixture? That's a good thing.

Have you heard Koenjihyakkei? If you can listen to their vocals you can listen to almost anything. |

Mmm, Koenjihyakkei. I'd say they're almost the exact opposite of Tangerine Dream.

Maybe what I meant to say was "dissonant" vocals. Magma's vocals aren't really a turn off, because they are still harmonious with the music. Some RIO artists' vocals, I feel, aren't as harmonious with the music.

Dissonance can be beautiful.

True, for example I can't really get into any of Mr. Bungle's stuff...I respect Mike Patton's vocals and think they're...interesting, I suppose, but they're not exactly what I enjoy. Edited by SaltyJon - November 28 2009 at 22:10 |

The vocals are the least of Mr Bungle's problems.
Kos, you did not just cool story bro a story about somebody's house potentially burning down. I forgot to call and now it's too late.

I hope Wobbler's Afterglow will at least get some consideration for album of the year, (even though I probably won't vote for it) it is definately one of the best this year.

If I were there I would have a hard time not causing him physical injury. Someone should have walked outside and lit his car on fire and told him that he can't go outside to put it out until his shift is over. |
