I live in VA!
So today, Diana came in at 5 and, while I was not present for the conversation, she conveyed to the manager that her mother was locked out of the house and she needed to go home because there was something on the stove so her house doesn't burn down. He didn't let her leave right away because it was busy, and she was still there at 5:45 when I was leaving. When he came up to sign me out he said to her that she couldn't go. She said "What am I supposed to do?" and he said "What am I supposed to do?" and I almost screamed "SUCK A DICK KEN!" I already lost respect for him after he lied to my face for no good reason, but now I hate him more than any other manager. f**king stupid a****les. I need to call to see if her house burned down.

Just got back from my Grandparents' house and now home again. Of course, I listened to a lot of Prog music on the way back. This time, we made it in two trips. Listening to "Histoires San Paroles" by Harmonium at night was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

I loved it, and I felt I became more adventurous in my musical tastes after it. I actually am really starting to enjoy the genre of Post-Rock right now.
I think people need to keep in mind that I am not really a newbie to the world of avant-garde. About a year ago, before I was really getting into Progressive Rock, I was just listening to acclaimed music that ranked high on those "Greatest Albums of All Time." One album I stumbled upon was Captain Beefheart's "Trout Mask Replica," and I decided to check it out because the artist and song titles sounded funny, and I liked what I heard from Frank Zappa, so how could I go wrong? I had no idea was Avant-Garde music was, but it sounded interesting. Needless to say, when I first heard the opening of "Frownland," my ears were never the same again. Around that time, I also checked out some other Avant-Garde artists like Faust and Henry Cow, but my reaction was pretty much same, and decided that Avant-Garde was not the music for me. Now, my opinion of those artists are mostly mixed, but I may start liking them some day.

I Faust, at least what I've heard from them. Same goes for Henry Cow and Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart and most other RIO/Avant-garde/Krautrock/Zeuhl bands people consider strange...and Canterbury.

^Zeuhl (Well actually Magma [ ]) FTW!
They're the only Zeuhl band I've ever listened to.

Yeah, I liked what I've heard from Magma. Of what I would call the four "weird" Prog sub-genres, I probably like Zeuhl and Cantebury Scene, but I don't really like Krautrock or RIO.

Zeuhl is probably my favorite of them, then Krautrock and Canterbury are tied behind it, then RIO...then Prog Electronic probably comes in closely after that.

I haven't yet listened to much Electronic or Krautrock at all.
For me, the most obscure I really consistently get is avant-garde or post-metal, although I haven't given ample time to the other genres.

You're missing out on some great albums in Krautrock/Electronic. Speaking of electronic, I was browsing through the Klaus Schulze page and saw "The Ultimate Edition". Nothing like a 50CD box set, eh?

Hey SaltyJon, what do you think of RPI? One band that I think both you and I would enjoy is Il Balletto Di Bronzo.

| 9000 words is about the size of a lengthy short story.
