Scott, what exactly is the economic effect test for partnerships? The book does not explain it very well.
I'm not exactly sure.  I'd have to refresh my memory for that.  I suppose that it has something to do with the ability to allocate income to the partners as written in the partnership agreement as long as it matches how partners are actually economically treated.  i.e. if partners are 70/30 partners, you are required to allocate 70% of the income to the 70% partner and 30% of the income to the 30% partner.  However, you are allowed to make special allocations like allocating all of the depreciation to one partner while allocating other expenses to the other partner.  However, if you make "guaranteed" payments to the 30 percent partner for work that he does for the partnership, then he might have economically benefitted more than 30% therefore more than 30% of the income can be allocated to that partner.

I have German work I should have been doing and a piece of music I should have been writing (only 12 bars though and it's supposed to be simple, so most likely no prog Disapprove) but instead I've played Oblivion and listened to prog all week. Tongue

Yeah, that's what I remember from class.

It just seems totally arbitrary; then again, that shouldn't surprise me. LOL

Why would anyone add metal to full-blown electronic music?

Because it's better than adding electronic blips and whistles to metal and calling yourself electronic (which is something I've seen happen to several metal bands).

So Tongue
