New Massive Attack in February, new Rush, and new Jaga Jazzist in January.

2010 is looking awesome already.

I think it's kinda sad that so many people here get into RIO and never talk about other music again. :(

You...liked Scarsick? I haven't heard it, but I find that puzzling after the press it received.

You know, there was a time when I didn't even understand the construction of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. I understand younger me finding it too loud, but why did I think that Donkey Headed Adversay was as random as Mr Bungle?

I gave it a 3.5 rounded up in a review here. The music is overall pretty freaking good, but the lyrics drag it down. There's a lot of misplaced sentiment in it.

LOL  Thanks.

QFT

What is it about jazz and electronic going together so nicely anyway?

Hey Drew, have you heard any other BT besides This Binary Universe?

Because that album is 10/10; I've heard his other releases aren't quite the same though. Are they any good?

In general, though, I don't talk much music now because I don't have a laptop and it's hard to listen to music while not playing my 360.

And it's over a month for me now without a scrobble on last.fm :(

They're the two best genres ever, of course they go nicely together!

Squarepusher, Jaga Jazzist, and countless others manage it so well. I think it's the fact that both forms have somewhat compatible artistic capabilities and no boundaries.

Yeah. I've heard most of his other album, I think. This Binary Universe is a fluke in his discography, because he does mostly techno/dance/trance but if you like that kind of stuff, it should be great. I'd recommend you try to get into Ima or ESCM if you want to give that kind of stuff a god. Youtube "Firewater." It's a great multi-instrumental dance track.

Generally he's more toward Tiesto or Oakenfold than Aphex Twin in terms of dance electronica, but I think that's OK.

It's frustrating/sad when people can't get over the "It's just a simple rhythm looping endlessly...blahblah...boring...only for dancing...blahblahblah" stereotype.
