Interesting.....for me Gabriel never sounded so alive as Trespass.....I love the immediacy of the material, the playing of Ant Phillips and the more blue collar drumming of Mayhew.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

Also, I may go shopping for prog.

I wont the $25 Amazon gift card for my Foxtrot review, and I gave it to my wife, but she can't find anything she likes with it (for the home, you know), so I may get to buy a couple of albums.  Big smile

Sweet! Big smile

Psst! Get And the Glass Handed Kites by Mew.

I honestly don't know if you'd like them or not, but something tells me you would, Robert. All I can say is it's probably one of my favorite non-prog/proggish albums of the last decade.

I must confess...it's hard to want to get into a new band that a bunch of whiners had been "mewling" about for a long time...it almost makes me hate the group before I've even heard them.

Speaking of, I'm working on a paper about gender psychology in the movie Twilight. Cheers.

I don't have a Myspace. But if I did, yes, it probably would be covered in New Moon and Miley Cyrus photos.

We have a New Moon board game at work. It's depressing.

We put the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials out on the same day. And that was all the day after we had taken the Halloween decorations down. I found something about it incredibly depressing.

I've heard it many, many times. It's a 3 star album for me honestly.

I think the main reason I don't like most Genesis is because Gabriel's voice doesn't sound fully developed/matured to me until Selling, and it kind of brings the music down a bit with it. I'd honestly give the 3 classic albums before Selling all 3 stars (except for Foxtrot which might get a 4).

All that being said, I haven't heard a Genesis album in a good 2-3 years now, so my opinion may change when I get back around to them again...eventually. LOL

It is, but on the bright side, she could have said worse.

Although at least you don't have deep feelings for any girl at work like me, and anything happening there is currently on standby because she's really busy with school and work right now. :( Grrrrrrrrrrrr

She's nice and fairly attractive, so I'm not upset, it's just bizarre.

I'd just take it as a compliment I guess. Although I say that mostly because I don't know what her looks or personality are like.

Epping Forest is the main reason I even like Selling as much as I do.

So a few days ago a coworker walked up to me and picked up some Mentos and she said "Mentos, the freshmaker! You're cute, you remind me of the Mentos kid in the eighties commercials...Oh that was probably before you were born" and she walked away laughing. I would guess she mid to late 20s, and I don't know what to make of it. On the one hand, this is the first time I can remember that a woman called me cute, but on the other hand...

And then yesterday somebody else said I was like Napoleon Dynamite. I could laugh this time: one time a customer said it to me and it made me really angry because that's such a f**king thoughtless thing to say. And then today a manager said I'm smarter than I look when I noticed that the schedule was stupid. I swear, these people...

I have to agree with that, More Fool Me is a waste of time, but the album is plenty long without it so who cares? I always liked Epping Forest, I don't know why it gets so much hate.

My overall opinion of Genesis is very meh. Lamb and Selling are both good (and W&W has some good tunes) but I never saw a whole lot I liked in them otherwise save a few tracks here and there.

Yes, my favourite Genesis.

Perhaps mine as well...a toss up between that and Selling.
I'll add A Trick of the Tail to the fight for the top spot, or the second spot more accurately. Or even W&W, those three are pretty even after Lamb. I should listen to England again some day now that I feel I can take Gabriel's goofing around better. Perhaps some day I'll enjoy Epping Forest. That song and I Know What I Like are nasty stains on an otherwise brilliant album.

I honestly don't see the hoopla regarding A Trick of the Tail...some good moments, sure, but I don't see much brilliance.

Now Wind and Wuthering...they should've entitled it Wind or Wuthering, so it's initials could be WoW.

Right on Robert!   Finally someone who agrees with me about Trick!  Smile

And you just convinced me to get Wind, one of the Gen titles I've heard the least.  And  LONG time ago.

Wind & Wuthering has great  music overall...but let me tell you..."One for the Vine" is an all-out masterpiece.
