Better that he admitted as such. People will draw their own conclusions about the partiality of the review on that basis. I can't see any provision in the guidelines for not having listened to the whole album in question. (and it would be impossible to police anyway, assuming the offenders had sufficient nous not to admit their failing)

People are getting impatient, Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê already has a 5-star rating, six days before the official release.

I heard the album leaked, nevertheless we should apply policy.

It's been available for ordering through Seventh Records since at least the 15th -- perhaps people have already received legitimate CDs?

Nothing can be understood for sure, when coming from a plain rate.

Certainly. I'm just curious if people know if people have received their ordered copies yet or if those ones direct from Seventh Records are considered pre-orders.  Would take awhile to mail, anyway.  I'd just known that you could purchase them since at least the 15th even if legitimate copies are not in people's hands yet.  Pre-sales is a very common practice, of course.  They probably don't send them off immediately.  I know others who have ordered albums early and received them before the official release date. I haven't noticed that release date mentioned at 7th Records, but it's not the best-designed and most informative of sites.

I'm just glad that my reviews haven't appeared there since this mocking incident in summer (oh dear)
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Band "Zed" from here: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4637 is not Neo-Prog. It is a pure Prog/Fusion.

I would like to report the latest dubious 5 star review for number 7. It is the only review newbie codd has ever given us, and and it is not really a review actually.

It also contains 3 or more key phrases from the e-mailer that promises free CDs for 5 star reviews, including 'masterpiece', 'best ... in 2009', and 'very recommended'. For more examples of reviews written following this form just check the reviews for Number 7 on rateyourmusic.com

The originator of said form is not neccessarily the artist in question.

Please take further discussions about this review to the reviews discussion thread.

P.S. It is the decision of the administration to delete this review.

Not so much an abuse report here as curiosity about a rating that has been removed since yesterday. I noticed that Ëmëhntëhtt-Rê got a 1 star rating yesterday that no longer seems to be there. It stood out among the previously unbroken run of 5 star reviews.  I looked at the guy's other ratings and they were all either 1 or 5 stars and seemed a bit eccentric. Just curious to know what happened really.

See the final page of the thread two threads below this Review Reporting thread.

Or for a quick link.

List manipulation?
By Soul Dreamer, April 17 2009 at 09:40

His only reviews were plagiarised -- all of his ratings were removed for his abuse.

I think we will let the review stay, he is using sarcasm and metaphor and he makes it very clear that he finds this album to be formulaic, cliche and somewhat commercial.

Hi, I just discover this "review", which says nothing http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=159441
And I believe should be improved by the writer, or deleted.

I think that counts as a rating because it doesn't have enough words, so it's ok.

Apparently they have a lot of 'reviews' like this. I assume it's the band members and their friends, it's just hard to prove. As mentioned before, due to the shortness it will probably only register as a rating.

Hi There.
Yes, this review may be more sarcastic in tone then my usual fare but I can't agree that it isn't about the music. It is very much about the music. I'd even say it's about the essence of music for me, which is not to be formulaic and not to be cliche but instead to be creative and challenging, both for the musician and for the listener.  This is of course a personal point of view that everybody can disagree on.
