Trust Vompatti to derail a thread about a phenomenal actor and turn it into a thread about tying your friggin shoes.

I wouldn't say it was derailed so much as diverted a little ![Wink Wink](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif) - and I learnt something which is also a bonus - I was taught the bunny-eared method because it is supposed to be simpler for dyslexics, but I couldn't manage that either - the Ian-knot looks do-able - unfortunately I haven't owned a pair of shoes with laces for many years so I have nothing to try it out on.
Anyway
I voted Good Ian because Byrnison Ian wasn't an option.

I couldn't tie my shoes until I was almost six. ![Embarrassed Embarrassed](smileys/smiley9.gif)
I was writing at two, however. ![Approve Approve](smileys/smiley14.gif)

I voted for Magneto because this shouldn't be so one-sided.

I voted for Gandalf because I liked his performance in LotR and the story of LotR and the movie versions of LotR more than any of the respective things in X-Men. Though both series were good, the X-Men movies don't stand up to the LotR series IMO.

Hmmm, tactical redressing the balance against the fan-boys voting? ... you may be on to something there.

Frankly, while McKellen seems to be a great actor, his performance as Magneto didn't strike me. But it's just because the 'X-Men' movies bore me. Ian isn't at his best in these movies.

Gandalf by far, I really loved the life he brought to the character.

Ian Anderson had some bad songs in the past.
