Has anyone here tried FreeDOS? I just heard about it and was wondering if it works like the real thing or are there compatibility problems?

I use Mac but I prefer Windows. The only thing I love about Mac is that it hasn't crashed like all my windows computers.

Windows has only crashed once ever for me, and I don't even think that was the one I have now.

I will probably be using Windows 7 soon, but I want to also have Linux.

I have a Mac, a PC with windows, and I remote run a Linux desktop from my old university's computer desktop when I need to program.

My favorite and most used is my Mac.

Vista. I'll be upgrading to Win 7 soonish. I tried my hand at Ubuntu for a few months but I got rid of it when I realized I needed the space for other things. I'm sure I'll give it another chance in a few years.

I use windows... but I'm willing to get a Mac book pro, maybe in january... just get tired of all the stupid questions of windows and all of its "Are you sure you want to continue?" and that it crash many many times... so I vote for windows but, if lucky is on my side, will be mac next year... Big smile

I'm stuck in XP-Pro-land - looked a Vista and really didn't like it. Haven't given W-7 a serious eval yet and won't do untl MicrClownSClownft leave me no option.

I have a couple of systems that use Red Hat Linux and really like it, but not enough to convert my home PCs over.

In the dim and distant past I have written my own Forth-based OS for a scratch-built computer - I only chose that approach because it was easy (OS and programming environment in one) ...  if I were to do that today I'd probably go for Linux on a mini-ITX system.
What?

I'm using good old Win XP, faithful servant that can do everything I want.

By the way, talking about taking chances, Mac OS has about 2% usage in my country, so this 1/5 of Mac users here is for me very good number.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

XP, there was a joke that I didn't make up: it stands for extra pricey. LOL
I'm on a Vista computer right now.  Sure the extra features are cool.  I like the gadgets thingy.  But it's slow as hell, might just be computer except I set one of my bosses up with a Vista and it's always been buggy.  The one good thing I can say about Vista is that it does run some old programs I have that none of the Windows versions past 3.1 would do.

On a side note I am using a MS keyboard where the keys aren't in a straight line.  I keep getting my fingers for my right hand in the wrong positioning, arrrggggg!!!

Oh crap, I've wrote it not clearly, my bad Dean. I meant that in my country it's 2% of people, but by coincidence, here it's also about multiply of this.

Czech Republic - 1/50

Here on PA poll - 1/5 (actually, it's more like 3/10, but at least I can repair this previous mistake)
