Who knows Supper's Ready? (Please Help a Novice!)

Welcome to PA! That is indeed a difficult song (especially on keys), and I do wish the best of luck to you, and I will try to answer these questions the best I can.

1) I found a couple of good videos on YouTube that might be of help:




2) I don't know anything about the PSR-300, but everything else should be fine. If that has some good organ tones, or you pick up the organ as mentioned you should be fine there as well.

3) Don't sweat it is all I can really say. Just practice it until the melodies give you nightmares. I'm sure that if you've been asked to be at this prog festival you are definitely a capable keyboard player, and you'll do a fine job. Remember, the only difficult part about it is the time signature! The actual notes aren't anything worth getting nervous about, but if you can master 9/8 time, this should actually be a breeze.

Just do what you do best, and if you mess up the keyboard solo, but play the climatic outro perfectly, the audience will be more than forgiving. Just remember: if you mess up the keyboard solo, don't think about it the rest of the song! You'll just get stressed out and mess up even more.

It seems worth getting to me, Kyle. It looks in great condition, and for free, why not! I've seen a Genesis cover band (The Waiting Room, if you're familiar), and after the Apocalypse in 9/8 solo was finished and the vocals came in the crowd went wild! If you just practice the time signature I'm sure you can nail it. I've been playing keys for about 3 years, and the time signature is my biggest problem. But if you really work on it, you should be much more capable than I am.

Well said, that solo is just made for improvising, whilst throwing in the odd recognisable bit here and there.
