Just to mention a few... The metal album covers from the 80's were the best, IMO!

This is the only cover that made me buy the album without ever hearing of the band or any of their music,way back in the hazy days of 1981.

Surprised not to see any cannibal corpse on here. Don't think album covers get any more metal than that. (On second thought, it might make this thread rather NSFW Wink)

Most metal album covers? Sure. But they are freakin' horrible abominations which should only be regarded with pure hatred, condescension and much smashing with a hammer.
