You're right, ironic pop singer images are extremely hipster. :( And I just discovered that some John Zorn albums have positive reviews on Pitchfork! Songs from the Hermetic Theater even got an 8.6! Can I really live with myself now?

Although my sig is not an ironic comment on Miley's music, which I don't find more offensive than any other modern pop music, so maybe it doesn't count.

Speaking of Pitchfork, I thought you guys might find their review of the new Russian Circles  entertaining (it's like everybody is releasing something this year) "Instrumental prowess is a double-edged sword in just about any genre, but when instrumental's all you do, you run the risk of the dreaded w**k with every flick of the wrist. "

lol, i especially like this flowery nugget -

"Chicago is an October sort of city even in spring," Nelson Algren wrote, and Geneva's an October sort of album no matter when you put it on."

Other Truths so far isn't as stellar to me as their past four albums, but that one definitely needs more listens. I'm sure I'm going to like it more.

I'm already starting to feel that i don't like it nearly as much as their last couple albums, but it's still amazing and one of my fav. "post" albums released so far this year.

I feel like if they're going to make an album where the tracks are do, make, say and think, they should make it more definitive. But maybe we're both mistaken.

About time! It'll probably be excellent! Update us if you hear any more news on it.

Nothing super interesting imo, but still quite pretty.

Oh Miley, you're so marketable.

Ian, you know she's 16, right?

There's an uncomfortably high res version of that photo, but now I would feel dirty posting it.

I guess that makes me the creepiest hipster around!

I love pg. Lost, I'll probs get the new album soon, though Angel's reaction to it makes me sad.

Long distance calling is pretty cool. Love the use of double bass!

lol!   "The Sun Sank" starts of with a frantic melody reminiscent of a Mega Man game composition, then transitions into a ballad of pretty acoustic guitar arrangements accompanied by some soothing, almost wind instrument like synth melody.

^ Pretty much enough to have decided only after a few listens each, that "The Sun Sank" & "Vermillion" alone make this EP the most genuinely concocted post-rock/math-rock  release i've heard so far this year. (although i can't quite commit to including post-metal in that, because of Indukti's new record)
