It's pretty good, they played it in its entirety after the gigs in the UK (they had to cut sets short because the drummer wasn't allowed into the country); it's certainly heavier than BLD. Toby Driver mentioned something about record label difficulties and what not, although he didn't seem sure himself why it wasn't being released until 2010.

There is currently a live performance of what I believe to be "Whisper Ineffable" on youtube. I expected Kayo Dot would've tried something lighter for the next album because of Part the Second, but it's again very dark and ominous... Not that I'm disappointed.

Never understood why labels/bands wait so long to release an album after it is finished - leads to folks trying to find it on the net and download it.
Looking forward to it though.

I love motW, but still haven't heard any Kayo Dot. I'll have to check them out before then!

I can't recommend Kayo Dot enough to anyone who likes avant garde and strong emotions in art. Their first two albums are some of the most brilliant music ever recorded!

The only real Avant Garde I listen to is Maudlin Of The Well, but they're one of my favourite bands ever for sure... I'll definitely have to check out some Kayo Dot
Could I get a recommendation for a good first KD album?
Thanks

Probably to build hype and to ensure enough production and distribution.
New song sounds awesome, looking forward to this.
