I am SO excited!!!! This is the most anticipated release of the decade...no...of my lifetime so far. I can't wait! Transatlantic got me into prog and they broke up shortly before I discovered them. I thought there was no hope of a reunion. Now I hear about a 77 minute epic and an awesome bonus disc. The moment I  hear I can preorder the special edition, I will. This is going to be awesome!

I'll grab the 2-disk edition on the day of release for certain

Hurricane Bill?

Anyway I am ecstatic about this release. 77 minutes? What in the world is wrong with those guys? There is no doubt I will be getting the special edition and I have never been this excited about a release.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal.

My most anticipated release of 2009, but have to admit at being a little disappointed with the cover art. I like the reoccurring airship theme, but this is just recycled from Bridge. They simply plopped it into another background.

Still, this is going to be absolutely killer.

Imagine what they will do when there is no limit on the length of the media.

Perhaps a 10 hour mp3.   Wink

wow , a 77 minute epic!!!

Their second album disappointed me, but I still have faith in Neal Morse/Roine Stolt. Neal Morse's solo career is full of great albums (especially the question mark one) and Stolt was in charge of the latest Flower Kings album.

I hope this turns us all into energy beings. Transatlantic doing a 77 minute epic, if any song is going to do it, it's this one.

Hello there. I've been following the site and this forum for some time now, but this is really my first real post. Anyway, this album is now available for pre-order at radiant

This just in! THE WHIRLWIND will also be available in a 3 DISC Deluxe Edition!! The Deluxe edition contains the Special Edition as well as a 105 minute long “Making Of” DVD and comes in a box with special artwork. This is the ultimate Transatlantic experience. Watch them make the album as you listen to it!

SPECIAL OFFER:

Be among the first 200 people to pre-order and enter a drawing to win the Transatlantic “Whirlwind” Note board. This is the board that Mike Portnoy wrote sections of the album on as they were writing it.

To own this little piece of rock history, pre-order now!! Drawing will take place on October 27 2009.

ANOTHER SPECIAL OFFER!!
Pre-order Transatlantic’s THE WHIRLWIND from Radiant Records and receive a FREE DOWNLOAD of their version of the Genesis classic “Return of the Giant Hogweed”.
(quoted from https://www.radiantrecords.com/catalog.asp?Item=288.)

I just bought my 2-disc edition. The delux 6 disc is bit too expensive for my liking.

And who are we to justify the right in all we do
Until we seek, until we find Ammonia Avenue

There is a nice little trailer for "The Whirlwind." I am still more excited than I should be about any new piece of music.

It sounds like they may still have it. The clips alone sound better than both the new DT and Neal releases.
