What are some good groups who use the Indian guitar?  I know of Nosferatu by Popol Vuh and liked it a lot.  Very chill and I know of Yatha Sidhra, I think he used the indian guitar too.  thats all off the top of my head.  anything else would be appreciated.

Dzyan/electric silence (krautrock- 1975)

Collin walcott/greasy dreams (world jazz rock prog- 1977)

Both highly recommended!

AGITATION FREE's 'Malesch' has got some damn good sitar in it. AMAROK' s 'Quentadharkën' has also some exotic string instruments, though no sitar, but it interesting all the same.

LE ORME's last 3 albums: 'Il Fiume', 'Elementi' and 'L'Infinito', each one has a sitar based track. These are the times where the violin joins inn for good effect: three great songs, actually.

There's a sitar (I wouldn't call it an Indian Guitar - because it's not really) used in Dream Theater - Home from the album Scenes From a Memory.  It's an awesome song, with great vocals and harmonies.  Go check it out.

You're right, I'm sorry. There's no sitar, but a zither!! This Greek/Turkish instrument is played by Lutz Ulbrich on a couple of tracks. I'm sorry, my huge mistake!!

Try Kula Shaker's "K", a great album with many Asian influences.
