Man, I didn't know he went that far back, Joel. Good info.

One of my Front Row Discs is a live recording in Copehagen on the Brave tour. After "The Great Escape" and before "Made Again" Hogarth is talking to the audience and gave a big 'thank you' to John Wesley.

We saw him after one of the shows just hanging out with the audience. I think it was the Friday night show and he was there as a spectator.

Yeah, that's where we saw him. Friday night he was simply hanging out with the audience. Night 2 he was part of The Wishing Tree (along with Hannah's husband [who I guess plays drums for Enchant], and Pete Trewavas on bass).

Sunday night's show was a bit strange, though. A magic act opened the show. It was enjoyable, but a bit freakish. John Wesley played a pretty long set with just him and the acoustic guitar. With the cross dresser who was mingling about and all of the technical problems spattered throughout the show, Sunday at the convention was quite odd, to say the least.

Wesley was good. The crowd seemed to enjoy him, but it was just him and an acoustic guitar, so pretty laid back.

To be honest, I could do without the opening acts. You have to stand at these conventions, so by night 3 my dogs were barking. On night one I hung out with my friend towards the back before and during Sun Domingo, but had to go to the floor when Marillion came on. For the second and third night we made it to the floor. It's general admission, so we'd wait out front for a couple of hours, then factor in standing for the show, you're on your feet for a good 6 hours straight. That got rough.

We had gone to a pre-show meet-n-greet at a bar called Brutopia in Montreal and had about 3 or 4  beers (I preface this by saying I'm a lightweight who may have 1 beer on the weekend with dinner). Prior to the show while standing in line outside the theater I could feel myself getting lightheaded (a combination of standing, the beers and having high blood sugar). I'm thinking, "If I'm not well enough to see them on the opening night, I'm going to be fuming." Luckily I shook it off. Me and my friend from North Carolina sat in back right behind the mixing board at the beginning. When Marillion came on, however, I headed to the floor.

My feet were hurting, but it was worth it.

I've only used them once, and that was to order the CD/DVD version of 13th Star. Don't believe I had any problems with them.

He really nailed it with 13th Star. Seemed to been used as therapy for him with his breakup with Heather Findley. "Arc Of A Curve" is a very emotional track.

"Arc Of A Curve" is a very emotional track.E Absolutely - the emotional trauma suffered by the Findlay breakup really seems to have inspired him, and Arc of the Curve is one of his finest ever tracks - a gem amongst an already exceptional album.BTW - I have been away for a couple of days, and I see that the request to get H solo on the site is being considered. Let's hope we are successful!

I have a question. What's a single? Is there a thing call single in the prog area? My favorites songs are usually 10 minutes songs and more...

Alone Again in the Lap of Luxury.

This album is at it's best when you've shelved it for a bit. I love this disc so much, but I don't want to wear it out and I have a tendency to put it on moth balls for an extended period of time. I decided to break it out for the drive into work and it's like hearing it for the first time again. I honestly can't imagine how anyone couldn't appreciate Brave after the pop riddled Holidays In Eden. Just pure magic for 75 minutes.

I'm confident that I'll never own a better album than Brave.
