That's the plan. Going for the jazz rock feel in this tune
Hopefully the music goes with the early 70s Vigilante theme Charles Bronson/Clint Eastywood style hehe. Edited by PROGMONSTER2008 - August 05 2009 at 19:30 |

tsk! ... if only I'd thought of adding the other two notes to make a chord....
Drone is a 60 minute opus to the single note, Eb

I heard this not long ago. Get some musicians and a vocalist and you have a prog hit
It has heaps of potential if you're into old school prog. It has a bit of a Gentle Giant feel to it. Kind of like Mister class and quality. Fun jazzed up rock. The ideas are smart and the bass playing is quite interesting Edited by Progologue - August 05 2009 at 21:14 |

Working on a new song now. Based around a chord sequence and melody i wrote down years ago.
It's not as intense, but more "floating" instead 4/4 :| Gm7 Am7 | Bbmaj7 Am7 |: Sounds kinda Canterbury |

The bass drum is constantly playing 8-notes, and it sounds awesome, but i can't get the last bit of the organ solo right!

That's a nice progression to learn to solo over. It sits on guitar very well. My kind of music.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Screw the organ solo! I extended the solo part to 80 bars, so now i can use it as a backing-track for my own solos

Here's an idea for a children's album I thought up:
SIDE ONE
What Kinds of Fluids Does Your Body Contain? Lego Madness Three Kids at the Bus Stop Don’t Put Your Finger There Lofty Goals at Age Five SIDE TWO Having a Name (Roll Call) No More Pez for Mommy Thunder Pants A Thousand Times No WHAT KINDS OF FLUIDS DOES YOUR BODY CONTAIN? What kinds of fluids does your body contain? Let’s just open up and see If you lift up your skin, what is that therein? Is it blood? Why yes, that is blood Better get a Band-Aid What kinds of fluids does your body contain? Drink that cup of coffee and we’ll see What makes that stain, that your pants doth contain? Is it whiz? Why yes, that is whiz Better get a change of clothes What kinds of fluids does your body contain? Open up your mouth and say “aaaaah” What’s in that warm bubbly moat, just in front of your throat? Is it spit? Why yes, that is spit Better not release it on the bus LEGO MADNESS One lego two lego three lego four I made a truck and I’ll make five more My truck has wheels, goes over banana peels And then it goes back in the garage Five lego six lego seven lego eight I’m in an excitable state Get your hands off my stash, don’t you throw it in the trash I’m not done making more trucks THREE KIDS AT THE BUS STOP A boy is looking at me funny A girl turns away when I arrive A second boy just wants to beat me up I just wish they’d all go away Three kids at the bus stop Are keeping me awake at night I want to tell my mom but I just think it isn’t right Cause she’ll tell their mom and their mom will tell them And then they’ll kick my a/s/s on Monday DON’T PUT YOUR FINGER THERE My dad is sad, my mom is mad I put my finger where it don’t belong She told me to wash my hands But I just don’t understand Because somehow I just like the smell LOFTY GOALS AT AGE FIVE Today this block, tomorrow the world My lemonade stand will be in the Fortune 500 By the age of eight I shall learn to fly And I’ll never have to go to school again If you have cancer, just call my cell And I’ll have so much money you’ll be cured Mommy and Daddy can go suck eggs Because I’m so much better than them HAVING A NAME (ROLL CALL) (instrumental) NO MORE PEZ FOR MOMMY What a draaag it is getting old…. Things are different today I hear every mother say Mother needs something today to calm her down And though she’s not really ill There’s a little yellow pill She goes running for the shelter of her mother’s pez dispenser And it helps her on her way, (**SONG ENDED DUE TO LAWSUIT**) THUNDER PANTS Boom, Boom Fillin’ up the room with my Thunder Pants Scritch Scratch Got a stain to match in my Thunder Pants My friends all think it’s cool But I’m staying after school Cause the teacher wants to take a different stance On my Thunder Pants A THOUSAND TIMES NO I want some candy, I want some juice Don’t want to get in trouble so I’ll make up some excuse The lamp broke itself, the cat always had three legs I can’t get into trouble or I won’t get my juice Ice Cream is mine for the having Or so I wish the story went I asked a thousand times, but each time she said no Mommy is a fascist, and that’s a fact. |

Thanks
I'm going to ask my dad to play the organ on it and make it crazy. He's been playing Hammond organ for 40 years. He's mainly into jazz and fusion

Well, I only write the lyrics for my band, not the music, but right now we're working on a 25 minute epic called Faustaus 2031, based on the Christopher Marlowe play about a man who sells his soul to the devil for power and respect, only we changed a bunch of stuff around but kept the main theme, i would give you the full lyrics only it would take too long for everyone to read, so instead I'll just give you a little taste
The strange dream remains in my eyes Could the demon have heard my empty cries Was my mind just playing tricks on me? Or could my soul no longer be free? |

Hey that's pretty rad. A good example of a prog song. It sounds more like a song than an instrumental. I like how you used the guitar, not overdone. Just chipping in with a combined riff with the organ. A bit of clav and flute too. It's mainly a jazz based form of rock in a way van der graaf, wakeman, gentle giant(someone mentioned) can be. But it's still unique. There's even a classical feel in the middle with the violin, piano, mellotron. Do you have any lyrics?
