In this moment I find it hard to believe that Winona wouldn't acknowledge the talent of one of the greatest novelists ever, so the only reason I can think of her supporting El Dingo instead of Proust is that she is wise enough to notice that Proust's poetic vision, although exceptionally insightful, lacks the insane brilliance of Céline and thus makes his works appear a little pretentious.
