He has apparently suffered a cardiac arrest.
Pop star Michael Jackson has been taken to a Los Angeles medical centre, US media say. Local broadcaster KABC has said the 50-year-old singer was taken by ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center. The Los Angeles Times has reported he was not breathing when fire department paramedics arrived at his home. The
paramedics performed CPR and took him to the medical centre, the
newspaper says. Officials would not confirm if the CPR was successful. No further details were available. The star was due to begin a series of comeback concerts with an appearance at London's O2 arena on 13 July. He has a history of health problems and has not completed a concert tour in 12 years. Michael Jackson's home is off Sunset Boulevard in Bel Air.

It seems he's dead - or so does the website of my favourite Italian newspaper say.... RIP Jacko... Just a couple of years older than me. Far too early to go  .

A quick look at various news sites have the same blurb about him being hospitalized. Haven't seen anything about his death yet. Not even on wikipedia where someone is always quick to post that type of thing, true or not.

From what I could gather from various local Los Angeles news providers I googled, he had a cardiac arrest, arrived at the hospital in a deep coma and his life was beyond saving.

I've never been sure how to feel about MJ because it's not clear from where I stand whether he was just a weird, lonely guy who got screwed by the jackass parents of the boys he befriended and his insane childhood, or if he was an actual pedophile. Either way, he had a pretty miserable life, so it's still sad. Maybe now he has found peace.
