Me and my friend are starting a prog-folk band (not excatly prog-folk, but were gonna start with 6 folk songs then a 3o minute epic prog song) and we want to know what to call it, any suggestions?

I'll have to think about this, but I can't guarantee that I will come up with anything.
What kind of instrumentation do you have?

Do what all most prog bands seem to do these days and name yourself after a classic prog song e.g. Gates of Delirium.

Failing that, I used to be in a band called Sweaty Armpit and the Kneecaps. As we're not using the name now, you can have it for a (un)reasonable fee.

I'll play drums, bass, flute, and maybe a bit of sax while my friend will play guitar, piano, and harmonica.

Name your band after a JT song.

I'll let you know if I come up with any more brilliant ideas. And what I said has nothing to do with what chopper said. Angry

Jethro Tull were named after a historical person. There was a Finn in the 19th century, whose name has kinda prog sound to it: Uno Cygnaeus - a priest who is considered the father of the Finnish public school system. Just "Cygnaeus" sounds quite nice. It might be a bit difficult name, though. But if that 30-minute prog epic is your own composition, you could call it "Cygnaeus X-Uno" Big smile

Name for a prog-folk band, you say? Here's my suggestions:

The Crow-Men
Horned Owl
Red Leaves
Vernal Equinox
Circle of Stones
