In my opinion, the metal genre not only holds the flag for the best music, but some of the best cover art. Not to put down Roger Dean, but some of the modern metal covers are beyond beleif. Anyways, post some of your favorites.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
Zakas - Shunk Daddy Grind
Megadeth - United Abominations
Strangely, enough, "United Abominations" was done by someone from DeviantArt. Go figure.

And, of course, I include BOCs "Imaginos"
Promotion so blatant that it's sad:

Hi,

Why do I get the feeling that I am not missing much not listening to any of these?

Black Metal covers tend to have a very gloomy, depressing feel to them. And in a great way, too.

modern metal does have the most intricate covers, some on a par with the classic psych posters of the 60s, though it's in danger of becoming common now as 90% of contemporary metal has the same kind of gnarled illustrations and illegible titles

Look up a fella named Dan Seagrave.  He did some fantastic death metal sleeves in the late '80s to early '90s, starting with Morbid Angel's Altars Of Madness.

I´ve found this page:

There is quite a good compilation of dark artwork
from several bands (some of them included in PA).
It may be worth checkingWink

Yes, and it's a contender for their best album too. Approve
