Local Band was my number two, loved it. Then got their two current live DVDs, excellent.  Dropped by the local brick and mortar store for Anchor Drops and Safety In Numbers.  I have yet to be disappointed.  Big smile

o yea, definitely get Local Band Does OK and Anchor Drops if you already have Mantis. At that point you could either check out their live albums/shows or get the rest of the studio stuff. whatever works for you. A worthy band to check out with many rewards as you dig deeper and deeper

I'm happy to see them finally moved.  IMO, they are more-so Eclectic, but Xover does just as well. Clap

cool...and I've beeped eclectic to consider them .. not sure if this group has come to them before for considering a move.. probably not since there is no way they would have left it in J-R/F .... but if it hasn't... it has now hahha.

I think they were added when the site was still in its infancy, by some occasional collaborator (the name at the bottom of the page didn't ring any bells). Therefore, it is OK to edit the bio... When a bio is signed by someone who is still active on PA, we usually ask them permission to edit it, or leave things alone.

Good music is good music, no matter how you want to label it... I am very happy to have got the album today, because my purchase seems to have effected this long-awaited move - and also because it is a very rewarding listen indeedWink!

Even if you considered them Proto-related non-prog music, I highly suggest seeing them live as it's a phenomenal experience for anyone who likes live music. As darkshade said, their lights are great, they are a lot of fun, and the crowd is always into it. It certainly not sit in your cushioned chair and take notes type music but if you like rock, go!
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

nice! now i think their bio needs an update, as Anchor Drops is the most recent album on there. That's 4 albums ago lol. I'll do it if no one else wants to

Heavy Prog would actually be more appropriate than J/F as Mars Volta are over there and have some similar sensibilities.

Xover, Heavy, Eclectic (my 1st choice) seem to be candidates.

i could see Heavy Prog, but they have a lot of 'softer' moments, so idk... Xover i dont think completely defines them, since their sound is kind of their own AND they cover many diverse styles, plus all their albums sound different. I still think Eclectic is the way to go.

no problem. i was going to post a review of Saturday night's show, and go off on a similar rant on how this band should be moved. But if the powers that be are going to take some action, then i wont do that.

i also dont feel like reviewing the show in general lol. it would just be me praising the band and the show, especially since ive never seen them live. so i just posted the link so everyone can check it out. BTW the light show of theirs was sick!
