Thatīs the usual when bands visit Denmark. Itīs very seldom an opening act proves to be very interesting. But there are exceptions of course like when I was blown back at a Cannibal Corpse gig by the opening act Fear Factory who had just released their Soul of a New Machine album. One of the best live performances I can remember. Damn they were hungry back then. Cannibal Corpse was sort of forgotten a few days later.

Never heard of them either.
I guess whoever booked the tour was lazy and just got the easiest Danish bands to get a hold of, since I would have figured Gojira would have gotten more well known bands to support.

That's gonna be awesome man.
Who else is playing at that gig?

Vira ( who Iīm not familiar with) and The Burning which is a Danish band Iīm not that familiar with either. I guess chances are that Iīll be in the bar during those bands ( I got the next day off from work), but Iīm sure gonna shake my bald head until it falls off to Gojira. To quote good old Accept: Balls to the Wall or maybe Exodus: Toxic Waltz. Itīs been a while since I went to my last concert so Iīm really excited.

Mosquito Control is a good EP, but I prefer what I have heard so far on Oceanic. Celestial was interesting too, but I wasnīt blown away. I think Isis is the kind of band that will grow on me in time.

I really love their EPs, so different from their full length albums, especially Mosquito Control... Some really great ideas on that EP.

Glad you're getting into them..  I just can't seem to get enough post metal these days.  Love the exploration of the riffs..

Iīm listening to Oceanic at the moment. Isis is actually pretty new to me. I listened to Panopticon when it came out but I wasnīt interested in their style then so Iīm giving them a second chance now and I must say that my interest has increased greatly. A review of Oceanic will follow shortly.

^Hehe, I'm pretty much still addicted to SikTh.
The vocals are a very acquired taste, I have to stress that though. Some people hate the vocals with a passion.
I did at first, but after 2 weeks, I fell in love with the vocal style.

Have you only listened to Planetary Duality? If so, check out Akeldama. It's: A) A better album and B) Pretty progressive.

On that note, I want everyone here to check out SikTh. They're just amazing, I haven't been able to stop listening to them.

In response to that Gojira topic, I saw them a few weeks ago.  They put on an amazing show, and the crowd were nuts.

Even when I was standing at the bar I was getting knocked around

No seriously Necrodeath is nothing like Necrophagist IMO but after our conversation about Necrophagist last year Harry I tend to agree with you, even though I was a strong believer in their place on PA back then. Iīd say there are other rejections in the genre I wonder more about. But Iīm not in the mood to discuss that today. But you know Iīll pick up the subject on a later occasion right?WinkLOL.

I donīt see nothing wrong in discussing rejected bands as long as you have a new angle or maybe a new album ( remember the rule is one progressive album and youīre in) from the band to present to the team. The X and Y argument isnīt a valid new angle though and I understand your frustration about that Harry. People who are not frequently suggesting artists might not realise that though. I know I had to learn the hard way when I started visiting PA. Itīs simply the easiest argument when you are inexperienced in the process.

Well, if Necrophagist releases on album of prog death, they're according to the rules.
I'll email Muhammed Suiįmez to consider making prog death songsLOL
Seriously though, apparently for the next album the band is going to be using 7 strings, I can't wait to see how that changes their song writing approach.
I think it will just more insanely technical, hehe.
And even if it's not prog, who cares bro?
We'll start a thread in general discussions when the album comes out and every post will just be about how freaking great the album isLOL

1) In 1999 I see Necrodeath is a concert from Hell in Padua... I have first 2 Necrodeath album... These albums are extreme... And also little Prog... But Necrodeath is, basically, a Black Metal band. So... Not for PA!!! P.s.: I'm not an expert of Necrophagist... But Necrophagist is a good band... Certainly not EPM!!!

2) The X and Y argument... I'm all rught with you. But in certain cases X and Y is a valid case for the insertion of a band in PA. Even if it is so rare that it is right to apply it... Only that you should list each time, where X and Y have the same(or similar) style and this does never happen and then everything is reduced to a sterile thing.
